Legend, still a true believer.

Well done to him, my point is that Ange showed he can do well in the league, you can’t say that league position shows the level and then dismiss it when it doesn’t suit. This season was poor but a variety of reasons contributed to that and ultimately they won the trophy he said they would.

Finished 5th in first season having lost Harry Kane on the eve of it.

Sorry to hear that but it’s more important to do what’s right for you. Look after yourself and Up The Spurs

Was impressed with him at the Ipswich home game.

Don’t know if I’m hard line but I would be a bit of a true believer, wanted a 3rd season for Ange and disappointed he was sacked. I am a Spurs fan first though so I’m fully behind Thomas Frank, likeable person which helps, and hope he can build on the EL win and be a huge success.

Sorry to hear this Dustin, wishing you all the best.

And that’s absolutely their right to do that and they are paid handsomely to make those decisions, I can understand why they would have had concerns but don’t agree with the decision as I feel it was very difficult to properly judge the season.

I think there’s so many factors that skewed the season that to come out of it with the EL trophy was an achievement and it’s difficult to properly evaluate the league. 5th in first season and a trophy in the second is pretty decent overall. He’s gone now anyway so it’s over to Mr. Frank.

An away second leg semi final, completely smothered the game, a very professional performance. We didn’t concede a goal away to Frankfurt, Bodo or in the final. If we were wearing an Italian clubs jersey people would be calling it a masterclass.

It shouldn’t need to be as big a reset as it was when Ange took over, hoping Thomas Frank will build on a lot of what Ange did but he’ll need support and time, at some stage the club are going to have to do that.

Still not great but we actually had 7 league wins since start of November including beating Villa 4-1 and City 4-0 away. The whole thing of injuries and prioritising EL has been done to death. For me winning EL outweighs the league position, the board thought otherwise.

Yellow top, but I wouldn’t be in the middle, off to the side somewhere.

He didn’t stop trying to win games, he prioritised the EL by resting and rotating players. What’s the difference in finishing 11th or 17th ?, the prize of first trophy in 17 years and CL football to follow was worth it in my opinion.

Fair comment Steve, utmost respect for your opinion and you’d know way more about football at that level than I ever would. Thanks for the reply.

There was still faith and trust between him and the players, which is probably more important. He’s gone now and we’ll just have to get behind the new guy and support the team as always. It’s very disappointing though.

Did a little reenactment of my celebrations at the final whistle for my wife and daughter who weren’t at home on the night.

I want Ange to continue and did so before EL final. I’m not fussed about what the media say but there is a lot of speculation and all I’m saying is that the club’s silence isn’t helping and they could and should put an end to it.

Maybe, I don’t know, people can read or assume anything they want from the situation.

You can read into the club’s silence any number of ways. They must know of the speculation and could easily put it to bed by saying we’re looking forward to next season under Ange as part of an end of season address or some other comms. It’s farcical really to let it drag on.

We have our own in Keith Burkinshaw, don’t know if there was ever talk of him getting sacked but we were relegated under him in 1977, promoted and then had 3 mid table finishes but won the cup in ‘81 and 2 more trophies over the next 3 seasons. Think we would have won more if he’d stayed.

Yeah, he’s still very young and it’s a huge step up but he is playing adult football in a tough competitive league where results matter, there is a plus to that as we’ve seen with Bergvall and Gray. I’d imagine they’ll want to have a look at him close up first and then decide what’s best.

Yeah, poor mistake, but as I say the point still stands, with him arriving in January it’ll be interesting to see what happens with him.

Just a slip of the tongue I’d say, point still stands and to be fair they know their League of Ireland and would have seen a lot of Melia over last few years, anything they say about him would be worth listening to.

For me the poor league campaign and winning the EL are not two distinct things, the PL season was awful partly because we won the EL. 15 games to play to win it, 14 times Thurs-Sun fixtures, then add in prioritising it and our crazy injury list. I wanted a 3rd season anyway, but even more so now.

Spot on, I saw someone on here the other day talking about our poor league form and the reasons for it but stated that they didn’t want to hear about injuries, incredible that people will just completely ignore what doesn’t suit them.
