🪶 reposting a couple of pics by Misha Mokeyev (alt text takes a while with Flickers):

Another devoted Flicker fan here. They’re splendid and can be generous in showing off their wild diversity of marks.

They ought to have offered a range of noses. Major missed opportunity.

I know it was Colorforms because back when I used them my spelling was still very good.

Me too! The way the vinyl stuck and came unstuck again was continuous with the ease of making new juxtapositions and funny images.

That pic immediately brought to mind a long-forgotten toy: Colorforms! Someone stuck these gentlemen together out of jackets, trousers, and legs from different sets and they came out all disjunctive!

look out into a cool breeze and, behold, a cartoon rat

I want to see a living civilian snake too. All we get are civilian rats and some are flattened

Could you possibly let us (and/or the blocklist owners) know what you found? Thanks!

I just drove through. Hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people in yellow vests that say “Chicago Police.” I have never, ever seen so many. A sign says, “Command Post.” Walking in big groups throughout the park.

(I wrote immigration lawyer, but I guess I
meant, "an appropriate lawyer")

Question: if you don’t have a lawyer and don’t have an immigration lawyer’s number, and you “demand a lawyer,” who will you get and whose side will they be on??

it’s that hyperbole that’s so nightmarish: you get carried away by a little pride and next thing you know your feet are dancing you away until they wear themselves down to bloody nubs. Way to teach kids the value of humility, huh

(misleading in the alt text: a strandbeest is not wooden, but pvc. It looks like light wood from a distance. it’s honorary wood)

…well or maybe a strandbeest

I remembered that, so when I saw this gull I was trying to figure out if it might be staining, but it was such an even, clean, light pink color (not dirty-looking) that I wasn't sure.

Splendid colors on its neck!
comment in response to

So lovely! I'm also noticing pink birds bc the other day, the most aggressive gull fighting over some fries (🙄) was bright, light pink; really surprising. Couldn't get good photos. A friend told me it may be staining from a water source, perhaps with iron. But a pink rock dove is another thing!

yeah that photo is a visual metaphor for just about everything right now

thank you! I had particular fun writing alt text; having to give the images in a different way was so educational. I found myself putting a ton in those that I didn’t put in the posts themselves.

that pic accurately shows his color? he’s pink like that?
