Really nice job on today's 4-8. Great breakdown of what we know and what we don't know at this juncture.

Verbatim, the GFS soundings will bring more than that.

This day was introduction to Oklahoma chasing, so can't say I'm too concerned about missing out.

I thought President Brilliant Businessman and his sidekick Other Brilliant Businessman were supposed to be great for the stock market.

This bill carves out some bizarre privileges for "official" media chasers but near as I can tell doesn't ban anyone from anything. I agree Oklahoma chasing is overrated from what I expected; especially since my introduction to it was on 5/20/19.

One of if not the most shameful days in American history, at least on the international stage in my lifetime.

They'll never do this because they are professionals, but I think NOAA should respond by announcing that due to the staffing cuts; watches and warnings will no longer be issued for all counties that voted for Trump in 2024. Instead, each county EMA director gets a copy of RadarScope Pro Tier 1.

Well, that's unfortunate. I had just recently subscribed to Ms. Carter on YouTube. Deleted Twitter long before the Odoriferous Musk; simply didn't find it that useful.

Gene's site was one of my go-tos to check for updates after a tornado event 20 years ago, along with stormgasm.com when you and/or Jim still updated it. Back before a few giant corporate algorithms fed you everything you saw on the Internet.

I think Skip Talbot has done the same thing re: Wisconsin cabin stays en route to/from Northern Plains chases.

Ah, makes sense. I thought you were from Illinois.

As someone who was under the impression that the EF-scale was intended to be applied in the same way as the F-scale, just with better precision, I'm glad to see someone in the research community taking a serious look at this. Of course, DOGE is probably about to axe NOAA's damage surveying capacity.

Are you from Wisconsin? Otherwise, why did you start the day there?

Possibly. A few other guys dropped by from time to time in those days including your friend Kevin (although IIRC he's a musician, not a fan collector). You might have started testing fans with Metal Pete around that time, too but I didn't meet him until the summer of 2015.

It's 2025 and I have a device I can fit in my pocket that has probably 100x the computing power of my parent's desktop PC from the early '90s, but where are the flying cars and personal jetpacks?

My mistake, for some reason I thought the OP was referring to the updated Day 3 outlook.

It's still worth it to save the traffic and parking headaches if I'm going somewhere within quick walking distance of a Metra or CTA station, which most of the downtown/touristy spots are.

... and the variety of transit available in Chicago and similar cities is amazing for someone from a city like mine (Madison, WI) that hasn't had passenger rail service since 1971. I can take the train to Chicago, but first I have to drive 80 miles-about half the distance, and leave my car in a lot.

Someone living in my apartment building got one of those Cyber-abominations at the start of this year. I have no idea where they charge it but it isn't here.

Yes, they are.
Is the first clip from 3/31/23?

...or if you wanted to keep the finish nice, you could just take the Figaro more often, right? At least as long as you don't have to drive at night. 🤣

Great shot! I didn't get anything even close to that, but the aurora event from October is still my profile avatar.

IMO yours is the best of any shot from that day. I didn't even realize in the moment that the original EF3 was still ongoing at this time. From my angle it had become shrouded in a murky wall of dust as the closer and rapidly much more spectacular Keota tornado formed almost directly in front of it.

Can you imagine: "Rich moisture return off the Gulf of America will contribute to a high risk of severe weather today."
