“I can’t even imagine that we might have to go back to a world like that.” Today, the #TexasVBecerra lawsuit and the fight to #Protect504 is featured in the @washingtonpost.com:

Medicaid waivers let disabled people get help we need to eat, go to the doctor, go to work & more. Cuts to Medicaid are cuts to those freedoms. Calling them work requirements doesn’t change that. Meet with your officials. Our lives depend on it. Here’s how:

Meetings with elected officials are one of the most important tools advocates have. Our elected officials work for us! Schedule a meeting with them. Show them who cuts to Medicaid and its programs hurt.  Tell your representatives #HandsOff Medicaid. We’ve got tools to help:

DREDF believes that Section 504 protects transgender people with disabilities, including a gender dysphoria diagnosis. The disability community includes transgender people, and disability justice cannot be achieved without trans people.

#TexasVBecerra Case Update: No state Attorney General has withdrawn from the lawsuit at this time. We urge advocates in the 17 states to continue to contact their AG to ask them to drop the case to continue the campaign to #Protect504 More info: dredf.org/wp-content/u...

No, the FAA did not recruit people with intellectual disabilities to work as air traffic controllers. Despite what the President said about anti-discrimination programs. My story @npr.org www.npr.org/2025/01/30/n...

The president's false scapegoating of people with disabilities for last night's terrible plane crash over the Potomac is a cruel, politically opportunistic, and shameful act that only increases the harm and grief our nation is experiencing. Our hearts are with all those impacted by this tragedy.

FAA employees with disabilities DID NOT cause the deadly crash at DCA. There is an ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash. Using this tragedy to further stigmatizeinclusive hiring is wrong & takes away the conversation and work we should be doing about transit safety.

Friendly reminder that, as I wrote for @motherjones.com, "school choice" often ends up hurting disabled kids as private schools don't have to follow IEPs/504s. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
