Helping people is all that matters.. Liberal. Civil rights is a long arc. It's never in the past. I won't give MAGA the benefit of the doubt again. Pro-democracy. I will never go back. When you feel yourself slipping, I'll carry your load.

In 2023, a white neighbor threatened to throw me off my apartment balcony because he imagined hearing me making fun of white people with an imaginary visitor. I lived on the second floor. He stopped me, blocked my way up the stairs, and yelled at me about his imaginations.

From high school on in a town of little diversity, my friends were white & most the women I talked to were white. But I can't get the images out of my head of many of these white people chanting "Send them back," about Haitian migrants, black people they imagined eating pets. & they terrorized them

I was raised by a single mother of 3 who started pursuing her doctorate when I was in 10th grade. There was never a phase in my life where I thought women couldn't achieve the highest highs.

The last time I checked, I had over 2,000 tabs open on my Google Chrome. I'd delete them, but I don't want to lose anything 😆

After I saw calls for humility during the campaign with a woman leading it, I've been noticing women just existing in any space and getting called to humility. Men are being encouraged to "tell it like it is" even if crude / insulting. But we keep making up reasons for why women can't speak freely

Some are getting upset about Harris's "I'm not here to say I told you so" comment, but there was nothing wrong. And even more, I was heartened hearing black sisters in the crowd vent. Black women, the most loyal bloc in the Democratic party, should be able to vent w/out ppl calling for humility.

Looking back at my time in church, the purpose of life being securing a good afterlife diminished my perspective of life. It felt like this world was less real. Death had a cushion to it. Suffering had a cushion to it. Injustice had a cushion to it. But ppl outside church process w less cushion.

If the people who love their neighbors as themselves are going to hell and the people who get their rocks off on migrants getting sent to foreign prisons without a day in court are going to heaven, I don't want to go to heaven. To be stuck w/ the worst people for eternity would be worse than fire.

Free Kilmar Abrego Garcia, and bring him back home. He's been here for 14 years, has no criminal record, is a father of 3, a union man, a sheet metal apprentice, and more American and hardworking than any of the people sending him to Salvadoran prison camp.

Bring him back.

Any business people here who could look at my pitch deck for a P2P small & mid-sized business lending startup? I have consultants, a development team, a pitchdeck, a 35-page business plan with financial modeling, and a USR for the platform, but, unfortunately, a small social circle 😄

Child me would like how adult me turned out. He'd be confused why I won't go to church again, but he'd be glad that we found so much outside of church and that we're not miserable anymore. He'd be glad that we found ways to be there with people in this life instead of just the next.

To deal w/ the unfair trade deficit between myself & every grocery store I've shopped at, I will be fasting up until the point I make groceries at home. There will be short-term pain, but do not underestimate my capacity to make eggs, cabbage, and tropical fruits from my home in the suburbs.

But what about the "army of millions and millions of human beings screwing in little, little screws to make iPhones"? Ludnick said we were bringing that to America. ...These are not serious people.

He actively chose recession. "Trump privately said he was aware that his broad and steep plan for levies unveiled last week could tip the economy into a recession, but he didn't want a depression, according to a Wednesday night report from the paper, citing people familiar with the conversations."

Being on the autism spectrum myself, the thought that this child had a father helping him navigate this complicated world & that the govt sent that father to a prison full of the gangs he fled is heavy. You shouldn't send a father to his death lightly & certainly not for an "administrative error."

It's not a coincidence that the people trying to use Nixon's madman strategy are actually mad. They can't navigate diplomacy with any fluency and try to sell being a poor fit for normal politics an edge. They can't read the book, so they throw it away. Madness isn't preferable. They just can't read

If the East Coast leader of MS-13 is an innocent man, who of the many they have detained and paraded around and deported is actually a criminal?

I like the open CNN used here: "President Donald Trump’s abrupt decision to reverse course on his sweeping tariff plan by announcing a three-month pause revealed his threshold for political pain: One week."

He inches us closer off the edge. He goes far, gets a reaction, scales back, but leaves something new there each time. That we're cheering that he only raised tariffs 10% on EVERY import and tolerate that he's tariffed China 125% when it was 10% in February and 20% in March is evidence of that.

I admit there was a part of me that wanted to see MAGA writhe from absurd levels of tariffs. But seeing the post-WW2 global economic order end, companies start to pull guidance, the - correlation of bonds & stocks break, U.S. markets mirror emerging markets, Asian markets mirror 1997 was too much.

An aid organization says five children are among eight people who have died from cholera in South Sudan after aid cuts are forcing patients to walk for hours to reach the nearest clinics

The vibes I get with the administration's view on tariffs is similar to the vibes I got when Erdogan forced interest rate cuts in 2021, despite inflation, claiming that interest rates were anti-Islam. Erdogan plunged Turkey into a currency crisis. Our economic strategy is like an emerging market.
