Souls-likes really work the bumpers and I just did 3 play-throughs of Lies of P.
But I think this is an issue with the Series controller specifically, not that I'm being too rough.

I bothered to look up the Mystery Inc thing and yeah doesn’t quite line up.
Still has elements relating to dogs' lineages and fighting evil entities though.

I don't understand why people keep watching shit they know is gonna be bad.
Do they not realize that tells studios "it doesn’t matter how shitty it is, we'll still give you money" and that studios will then stop investing in good art?
I know I'm saying exactly the same thing as you but I need to.

Isn't this a Mystery Inc thing?

New Ultimates was kicked off by another character that survived the original. I haven't read much of it, but they were setting Miles up to be important since he's the only other survivor, so my guess is this is the same Miles, not a new one.
"Incursion" also suggests this involves 2 universes.

I like seeing this on its own. The end of the month thing can be kinda overwhelming.
Either way, this kicks ass.

I love the idea that he's credited like that and the movie never actually says his name.

I do hope that they just release it out of nowhere. That the next time we hear real news (not just "one of the online retailers has changed some info on the page") it will be "the game's out right now."
You know, whenever in the next 10 years it's done.

I think what you're aiming for is exactly what you said in your follow-up "no game is made bad on purpose" and that would go along with "gamers direct their anger about bad games towards the wrong people."
I don't think that's the same as bad games not existing.

100% agree. I think it was literally 2 weeks. But a valid reason why it's bad doesn’t make it less bad.
If the studio gave a shit and gave their team more time it could have been good. But they didn't, and it's not.

Also some devs don't care how bad a game is so long as it makes money. This is especially prevalent in mobile games, I think.
The most egregious examples stretch the definition of "game" so there's an argument to be made they aren't bad games, just scams.

I don't think good intentions mean a game isn't bad.
Certainly people are too quick to call a game bad when it's really just okay, but truly bad games do exist. I'm talking about the likes of Skull Island: Rise of Kong.

Here's a bold one: I like Knight more than City. Both are great games and they make Asylum look basic and Origins look shitty by comparison, but I think that little more depth added by Knight being the newer one gives it a slight leg up.

The Serpent had limbs before convincing Eve to take the fruit. Afterward he was cursed to writhe on his stomach.

I also liked Another Crab's Treasure and Mortal Shell

If you don't like it, I think it's still worth trying Sekiro or Lies of P. I liked those two and didn't care for Elden Ring.
Haven’t tried Dark Souls myself.

Mime and enough steel kings brings this build soaring. Also a lot of red seals and 1 or 2 blue seals.

You never want to start a run already having a plan. Relies too much on a lot of luck.
Start making a build based on the Jokers you find in the first few antes.
For the very early Antes you can just buy anything that gives ~15 mult to ease through as you look for something good.

Lean into what I get.
Straights can be hard to play but they scale crazy fast.
I usually start with Flushes because they're easy, but move away from them because they scale slowly.
Most runs end up as either 5 of a Kind or High Card.
Here's my new record I just got today.

The Foil is useful, but it's be better to get a different Foil joker

Also Baron. Half Joker is totally useless here and Lusty isn't great either.

Congrats! That is a big milestone.
As you work toward this one, remember that deck fixing is just as important as finding synergistic jokers.
You should also check the Collection and read unlock requirements if you haven't. Lots of good stuff starts locked.

If that was enough to bring it back so soon, it should also have been enough to never shut it down in the first place.
comment in response to

Despite the awesome start, this is a tough one to win. I've tried a lot more and it doesn’t really seem to have much deck fixing potential nor any good temporary solutions to beating rounds.
Need someone who's actually good at the game to give it a go.

Marvel Rivals is pretty decent too.

This one's an example of shitty sampling, not shitty analysis, but basically the same thing.
Also this one was obviously done on purpose, presumably to illustrate how easy it is to fuck up research.

You can skip both but it's +3 either way.
Skip is always a choice you don't need to have Red Card. Sometimes you just don't want any of the options.
comment in response to
post
Skipping means buying it then clicking the "skip" button rather than choosing any option.
For mega packs (the ones that let you pick 2) you can take your first pick then skip.
It's a pretty good Joker if you're flush with cash or have this guy.

2024 was a good year, but if I could recommend one game, it's Outer Wilds (2019).
Don't go researching it though. It's an exploration/discovery/mystery game and the less you know the better experience it is.
It is NOT the same game as The Outer Worlds

I played a bunch of games that released 2024. "Lorelei and the Laser Eyes" and "Tactical Breach Wizards" were probably my favorites.
Been enjoying Metaphor too.
And obviously Balatro kicks ass.

Hanging Chad would've gone crazy. Easily replaces Scary Face or Smiley Face.
One of my favorite combos I've run into is Pareidolia + Canio + Trading Card. Goes so much harder but is obviously harder to find.

You can still get unlocks in endless, so if you don't have everything, that's the reason to stretch.
