I think inflation was the biggest factor. Biden is probably the most pro worker president in recent years, Walz was a very popular VP pick because he was on the left and the democrats are way more left now than under Obama. They do need to move to populist messaging, I think the policies are ok

This is the usual end result of fascism/fascist like regimes. The problem is they also tend to do a large amount of damage before this finally happens
