What Pence can do is clearly call out and call on congressional Republicans to support Ukraine and denounce Trump’s pro Russia policy

That combined with him saying he would not run again when he ran in 2016 combined with him stepping aside after the disastrous debate last year and then having a nominee in Harris while supremely qualified, she was selected without a primary and as a result millions who voted in 2016 stayed home

A gun in the home is many more times like to be used to harm or kill a member of that household then it ever is to protect that home. If you want to own a gun and you are not a prohibited possessor, by all means do, but please first understand all of the associated risks and responsibilities.

Maybe he should look at his border czar Honman who wants to jail AOC for letting people know what their rights are. Sounds like an attack on free speech to me. Between Vance, Cotton, Cruz and Hawley, I think these Ivy League schools want their degrees back

Unfortunately Pete would never win the presidency right now. It is going to have to be a straight white male. It’s awful but we have seen that there are far too many who will not vote for a woman, no matter how qualified. The same is very likely the case for a gay person.

But of course the full party will not stand behind such an idea despite it being a great idea, because there are too many egos and too many who want to run in 2028 and this would elevate Pete and give him a high profile.

While I don’t always see eye to eye with my Senator Chris Murphy he has been great since Trump had taken office. He had been vocal, visible and explaining to people exactly what is going on. Earlier this week he called out every republican member of the senate for being in a cult. He is 100% correct

It’s a lot worse that that. It is a green light to any Neo Nazi, Christian nationalist, to carry out violence with impunity.

This is a fantastic idea and something that could give Americans a regular and reliable source of truthful information while at the same time pointing out the daily lies and misinformation by this administration. The issue is aspirational democrats wanting to run in 2028 will not support it.

Yes this is a fantastic idea. Let people know ever is actually happen in a simple, clear and honest manner. @petebuttigieg.bsky.social is perfect for this. A huge reason Trump win is because millions of people heard his easily digestible lies and believed him.

He also lied when he was asked about whether he had ever heard of a certain podcast and he replied no. It was then revealed that he had been a guest on that pod cast many times.

I have met with hundreds of members of Congress. She is one of the neediest people I have ever met. She needs constant adulation and thanks.Met with her a number of times on issues of gun violence with victims and survivors. Her staffer one time told us we should be thanking her for all she had done.

Respectfully we should be living in a factual world. If there were both boos and cheers, which is completely plausible and likely then so be it. We should not be like the right and only accept as factual what we want to believe. Snopes is purely fact based and does the work to find the truth

Snopes, which I generally trust and have found to be accurate and trustworthy over the years, said that there were both boos and cheers. They also said that they could not confirm one way or another if Fox overlayed cheers over the boos on their broadcast.

we are racing towards a true constitutional crisis. Trump has been slapped down by several federal courts and it seems clear that he and his admin not abiding by those rulings.enforcement mechanism for federal courts is the US Marshalls. US Marshalls are controlled by DOJ, DOJ controlled by Trump

Aldi those that are up for reelection in 2026 have all been promised Trump/musk back primary challenges if they vote no. So they are greedy political cowards who care more about themselves and their office, than their constituents or the country.

guardian did a piece today showing it was $17.2 million which included forcing hundreds of homeless off the streets, out of their tents and into a cold warehouse. The choice was warehouse or jail. Also all of their tents and belongings were destroyed. The money would have paid for housing for a year

Great advice. You can’t help others and fight for what is right, if you are not finding any joy in your own life.

Also when republicans do things they do so without giving a rats ass how that impacts people.Democrats tend to actually care about people. So for instance where republicans wouldn’t hesitate to force a government shutdown or delay voting on a bill that people are relying on, democrats would care
comment in response to

While i don’t disagree with you, there is also a difference. Delay tactics can most certainly slow things a little, but I would expect republicans to leverage reconciliation wherever they can to get around 60 vote threshold.

Enlighten us as to what you would have them do.Do you understand how government and Congress works?Republicans have majorities in both house and senate. That means they control agenda, what gets brought up in committee and what gets voted on,on the floor.Stop complaining and do something yourself.

While it’s obvious the new DOJ won’t do anything, I would think that this blatant admission would get some things moving in the PA with Governor Shapiro. Unfortunately a Republican won the 2024 State AG race, so not sure how that impacts things.

The main issue with this is that all of the witnesses in the doj case against him were significantly compromised and the bar for reasonable doubt by the defense would have been extremely low as a result.
