The match must be lit at some point. Is this the new authoritarian regime, or is the United States still a thing? The longer we wait to find out, the less likely the second option is true.

...so....why are we not treating them as such? Would people not intervene if some kid was getting snatched at a Walmart? Why are they not doing it now? Threat of arrest? By who? If enough people start resisting, sure....it may turn into an incident, but they're cover is blown then. We need to know.

Well...to begin with, who says they are ice officers? They are not marked. They are detaining/arresting u.s. citizens which is outside their jurisdiction. They do not reply to questions about why they are there, who they are, or who sent them. They're just faceless people snatching people....

Why isnt security opening fire on these kidnappers? Why did the national guard and FBI let the congressman UNDER THEIR PROTECTION, be kidnapped by unmarked "officers" without a fight? When is someone going to exercise their 2a on these brownshirt thugs? Most of them aren't even law enforcement...

If he were to choose not to follow it...like Vance suggested, what exactly is the recourse. The court order is toothless. The u.s. Marshal will not act, and even if they did, he's immune. π€·ββοΈ

No they can't. The legislature has been neutered, and no longer has any control over the executive office in any capacity. He can't be impeached, he can't be prosecuted, he can't even be removed from office. Any motion to do so will be lost by his synchophants, and then retribution will rain down.

Well, I mean ....it doesn't seem to apply to them. At all. Who is going to enforce that law on them? Trump is immune, and he can just pardon whoever, for whatever.

But regardless, even if the supreme Court says so,what is stopping them from doing it anyway? Trump can't be prosecuted. He will just pardon anyone he wants, and then have them keep going. None of it matters at this point really. The system can't fix the problem, because they are the system.

Well, normally I would agree. .. but, to what end? All they have to do is ignore court orders. Like, what exactly would happen to them, if they just said- ok whatever - and continued on? They're not going to be arrested. They're not going to be removed from office.
I suppose a paper trail would

I agree and respect that.
I just don't see how the system applies anymore.

With all due respect ....by whom? What consequences come from them not honoring a contact? They can't be arrested. They can't be forced to pay anyone. They can't be impeached. They can't be removed from office. All they have to do is nothing, and nothing will happen to them.

Well ...I mean ...why do they care what a judge says? Who's going to enforce that ruling?

What is political about this violence? Can you point to the politician involved in this case?
Is the tribalistic dissonance in the room with you right now?

Well he was convicted of 34 felonies, and adjudicated libel of gRape.
So as the above poster said, there's two types of people ... Those that are ok with that behavior, and those that aren't.
No middle ground, really.

Nothing to disagree about. One side supports gRape, lawbreaking, unconstitutional acts, and treason....and they're wrong. No need to discuss. "Discussing" it for the last 10 years has changed nothing....in fact, it seems to have made it worse.
