RIP Washington Post. Democracy dies in capitulation. #WaPo

Have a good Saturday night, all. Be safe. ☮️💙🎶✌🏻🕊️

We’re all angry and worried and maybe some don’t feel like creating or no longer feel like it matters, but keep writing, painting, dancing, making music, making art. Not doing the things that bring you joy—not making art—doesn’t help. Do what you love harder than ever.

@themelissahunt.bsky.social Hello wife!

Revisiting some of my old fiction. open.substack.com/pub/dtgriffi...

How long until we see thousands of people dressed like this arrested in NYC?

Hey all! Audible is currently having a MASSIVE sale on almost all Audiobooks! Three of mine are only 99c currently! Grab them at author.to/stevestred and don't forget to go check if your fav author has any on sale as well!

I wrote about my recent life change.

I need this reminder regularly.

This piece from @sykescharlie.bsky.social is essential reading at this moment. Everyone take the time to internalize its message. No more doom replies. No more 'anticipatory obedience'. No more 'Eeyorism'. No more 'premature capitulation'. We FIGHT. charliesykes.substack.com/p/this-is-no...

Ladies, gentlemen, and nonbinary folks, here’s your next Attorney General.

Hey @morganktanner.bsky.social - great to see you on here! How are things?

I haven’t been on here in a while. Should be interesting.

Some words on #writing amidst distractions created by the the current political climate. open.substack.com/pub/dtgriffi...

I wrote a thing: "free clue: you can’t fight fascism by rolling the fuck over and playing dead" — the 14th Amendment is there for a reason. thanks for reading, and please sign up for my daily newsletter to keep getting the good stuff —

Kicking off my Substack! #writing

Happy Thanksgiving! Remember - today is about being thankful for all that you have, no matter how little. Appreciation and gratitude go a long way, much more so than a giant meal centered around an overstuffed turkey and its subsequent five-pound gain.

Today is the day -Christmas and Other Horrors is out with all new stories by a host of great writers! tinyurl.com/4dw7sd6z

Had an incredibly fun time hanging with @johnpalisano.bsky.social and our families tonight at the best pizza place in this country! Long live great friendships! I miss these times together and cherish them. I’d include a photo with this post, but John has them all.

I own this in hard cover and fully endorse Gabino’s path to a second contract. Read it, dammit! You’ll never think again about bolt cutters as they were originally intended.

@datlow.bsky.social & @gabino.bsky.social - I had an amazing time talking with you both today at StoryFest. Thanks for your time and I hope our paths will continue to cross in this horror writing life.

@neilhimself.neilgaiman.com It was an honor and privilege seeing you tonight interviewed by @sgj.bsky.social at Westport StoryFest. I went home feeling more inspired than ever to dive into my writing. Thank you.

Received this amazing review of my book Plain this week! www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

Just paid a visit to the platform formerly known as Twitter. The level of visceral hate, ignorance, and utter chaos knows no limits on the app I once loved. Sad, sad times.

I just saw the new terms of service for the app formerly known as Twitter. That spoiled rich guy loves authoritarianism.

When an author as talented as Joseph Sale puts you on his list of Best Writers you graciously accept it! Thank you, Joseph. And seriously, you all need to read his work! themindflayer.com/the-top-fant...

I write dark fiction and horror - is there truly a difference? Anyway, here’s a short I wrote a while back, originally published in 2015, and republished in 2020 on Kendall Reviews: Cacophony in B minor.

1 of our best writers of horror & adventure is facing health problems.Holmes & Carnacki tales by Willie Meikle beguiled me in 2014 when hospitalised. pl visit his site, decide wch books appeal, but frm wherever?NB:Meikle's NOT appealing fr funds.I'm posting ths in gratitude www.williammeikle.com

The "starving artist" myth is one promoted by people in power to romanticize the forced austerity of artists and writers -- meaning, to convince creators that being paid less than they are worth is simply part of the expected narrative when it shouldn't be. (See also: the WGA strike.)

A great review from Nick Roberts, author of Exorcist’s House.

Horror writers in Connecticut and neighboring states, our HWA chapter is always open to new members. Check us out. Revamped website coming soon. hwact.wordpress.com

It’s interesting rebuilding what I used to have on the garbage fire formerly known as Twitter. Happy to reconnect with anyone from there!
