Yes

He's growing up so fast!

Pritzker is clearly positioning himself for 2028, and...doing quite a good job at it.

Sesame Street is a wonderful program and it can be particularly helpful to children in dangerous areas. Plus, if that's what they see from the US, it might help make them hate us less. I'd much prefer that to another missile or tax cut for people with $100 billion+.

Yeah. It's not that he actually thinks it's correct. It's that he doesn't care.

It's not real. Probably best to not promote it.

This. It's likely that doomers on here will look silly a year from now, and it's also probably a good idea to think seriously about what your red lines are and have a plan for if they're crossed.

I'd bet $10 he gets that checkmark now.

I've followed you for years and had no idea you went to law school.

If a man with $100 billion wants to be in charge of his own media outlet, he can pay for it.

I'm honestly just glad they found each other.

His research with Bardeen and Brattain would have been flagged and rejected. None of that "trans" stuff.

If you wanted to convince the MAGA folks saying we want to find more Shockleys might be a winning strategy.

Let's suppose they just say they'll ignore the courts. Then what?

Bye bot.

Chad, don't be a disingenuous moron. We don't have time for this bullshit right now. Please grow up.

Tis a silly place.

Disagree. Great movie.

Keep digging, buddy. No, they're not even remotely comparable. One is about trying to decrease violence, the other is about increasing it. If that's all the same to you then you don't actually care about police violence.
comment in response to post
If you can't tell the difference between somebody suggesting protestors be shot, and somebody suggesting, in a context not about protestors, that police use incapacitating but not lethal force instead of lethal force, then I can't help you.
comment in response to post
OK. It's not that your memory is bad. You're just a liar. Biden wasn't talking about protestors here, and you directly referenced something Trump said. But please, keep digging.
comment in response to post
Your memory isn't so great. You're confusing Biden with Trump.

FWIW the claim she said this appears to be false.

"Support journalists and journalism." Exactly! Take any money you're giving to the LAT, cancel it, and instead give it to journalists and journalism. Let billionaires fund their own propaganda. You don't need to pay for it.

Boy did you undershoot.

Could the House, for example, decide that the vote of any state will be made by a single delegated Representative from that state, determined by the Speaker? 2/2
comment in response to post
OK. Another question - please tell me if I'm being annoying but I think this is kind of fun in an also very scary sort of way. How much leeway does the House have to determine the method by which a state determines its vote? 1/2
comment in response to post
Damn. Thanks for sharing your expertise here. I've at least had fun.
comment in response to post
Wow. OK. So the Speaker becomes acting President until the House selects a new President (if they ever do), at which time the acting President becomes nothing. Oh, and I suppose the Speaker doesn't need to be a member of Congress, right? So the House could in theory select almost anybody?
comment in response to post
If the Speaker is the acting President are they still also the Speaker?
comment in response to post
If the VP is acting President they're still also the President of the Senate?
comment in response to post
And if no President or VP is chosen by inauguration day the 20th amendment just says Congress needs to figure it out?
comment in response to post
*that* has no Senate President.
comment in response to post
Suppose it's a 50/50 senate and Harris casts the deciding vote making her the VP-elect. House refuses to vote. Come Jan 20th she's acting President and... there's a 50/50 senate has no Senate President? That would be so crazy.
comment in response to post
If they never do the vote, does VP-elect just become acting President?
comment in response to post
Wow. Yeah. I'd thought of that possibility, but not really what it could mean. That would be insane.

Taylor Swift coming out hard against Trump wouldn't move the needle and she should also totally do it.

Going after a good old man who's on the decline and struggling pathetically to keep it together one last time is breaking my heart. If it was ANYTHING besides the return of Donald Trump on the line, I wouldn't do it.
