In his defense, I'm pretty sure Trump doesn't actually know where Congo is

I'd rec A Clockwork Orange (my fav of his films). After that, Eyes Wide Shut, Full Metal Jacket, and Barry Lyndon are all also incredible

Yeah, personally there's been a lot of TV I want to watch coming out rn too. Black Mirror just released a whole season, The Last Of Us has a new season, plus another Star Wars show also just dropped. I'm currently 4 eps behind on Andor lol
comment in response to post
Imho is bc of how they chose to release it. 3 hours of TV every week is a lot to ask & that's on top of Andor being so dense and complex. I feel worn out after each ep (I mean that as a compliment) so I think most viewers are prob having a really hard time keeping up with its release schedule.

#jackask If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers, how many pickled peppers did Peter Piper pick?

The funniest thing is that the Empire is traditionally a metaphor for America. Trump is the president, he's the Emperor.

Understandable (though I personally really liked it), but considering how popular that movie and the whole book series was, I'm surprised we still haven't gotten a sequel.

If we do it without telling them, they wouldn't even notice, that's how absurdly rich they all are
comment in response to post
Doesn't make rational sense for them to pay less than the bare minimum needed to survive. Surely, they want their employees to continue living, right? Or not move on somewhere else? They lose lots of money every time they need to train newbies. These companies are shooting themselves in the foot.

Jon M. Chu will do anything but that Crazy Rich Asians sequel that was meant to come out half a decade ago

I get unreasonably upset when I go see a movie and there's a commercial for Discovery in between trailers for Thunderbolts and Sinners

Not bad choices, but whoever cast Barry Keoghan as Ringo was cooking

Let's go! Very smart of Ketchup to buy it considering all the free publicity the film already got, how beloved Loobey Tunes is, and that The Day The Earth Blew Up ended up not being a complete failure despite how badly Warner Bros. set it up to. Genuinely can't wait!

That's the most realistic reason for Trump to have rushed these documents out
comment in response to post
Obviously just a distraction from all the horrendous shit Trump's been doing. I glanced at the documents and they seemed redacted to hell. Not that it matters, what could it have possibly said that'd effect my modern day life in any meaningful way?

I'm tentatively excited for this. It having the same director as Marcel The Shell With Shoes On doing a lot of heavy lifting on my anticipation.

Reading his quote, I'm not sure if McKellen knows what coming out actually is. I think he believes a bunch of people are literally stuck in their closets and refuse to leave.

Yeah, I'm super sick of all the hate towards Marvel movies. At this point, they are more like theme park attractions, but since when did we all hate rollercoasters?

*hot take* I thought the trailer was pretty fun! And it's really cool that a trailer for a major movie is shouting out more of the below-the-line workers like the cinematographers and art directors.

Especially when the Captain America movies are historically the most political of the MCU movies while Daredevil's original series didn't lean into it this much. Not a complaint on Born Again, if anything it's a complaint on Brave New World

New #Oscars stats! Omg, I was 1 point off from last year! Madison upsetting Moore and Brutalist not doing as well as I was expecting got me. I got 12 1st picks and 7 2nd picks right for a total of 31 points, tying my score back in 2021, when Nomadland killed it! Congrats to Anora, totally deserved!

Walt Disney did once by producing a couple movies that won. Sean Baker is the first to do so for only 1 film since he's one of the rare directors who also edits and writes his own movies
comment in response to post
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Sean Baker has broken an #Oscars record for most awards in one night for the same film. Actually insane!
comment in response to post
Holy shit, I didn't realize the Academy would've loved Anora so much! I figured it was too edgy for them. Mikey Madison was my personal fav female performance this year, so I'm very happy for her. Demi Moore must be so confused rn

Also per the usual, I didn't watch any of the docs nominated and just picked the one everyone else was predicting to win
comment in response to post
The shorts so far are the only ones I've gotten totally wrong. Per the usual, nobody understands how or why the shorts win

Just wanna say that last second changing my Production Design prediction from Dune: Part 2 to Wicked was brilliant on my part
