I watched a journalist complain earlier this week that Bsky has reinvented the right's skepticism towards mainstream journalism without a profit motive as a way to be derisive, but honestly I feel like we are not harsh enough on institutions like the Times over here.

Feel like making this reflects a broader trend and isn’t just a government thing. They keep sucking the whimsy out of design, and I’m sick of it

lol

Vibes are bad. When people are fired up like this, they lash out, and usually cooler heads are dwindling

This kind of asset fire-selling is always shortsighted but especially so when it’s the fucking government. This will be hard to undo, and we’ll all be poorer served (and poorer) for it

Programmers are not, by default, sysadmins lol

the thing which has happened on the left where people performatively refuse to disavow paramilitaries which exist for the exclusive purpose of being disavowed is crazy-making

People who support Israel are going to believe that the Bibas family was killed by Hamas and people who support Palestine are going to believe they were killed by Israeli air strikes and honestly I don’t see the point of debating how a baby died when the baby is dead

this is the crux of it!!!

folks like Sagal can talk all day about how reporters are doing these great investigations & holding folks accountable but 99% of folks are just gonna see the headline & never read the stories, which is why people are beefing about the headlines. why? because the headlines undo the stories.

Elon Musk is paid TENS OF BILLIONS OF DOLLARS to be the CEO of Tesla. What did Elon get done last week for Tesla?

This is a campaign of eliminationist violence against a small and easily demagogued minority group.

W.E.B. Du Bois on the white takeover of southern public schools after Reconstruction. Not a coincidence that the chapter, "Back Towards Slavery," follows his analysis of the eventual dedegration of the public school system. Attacks on education are vital to (re)instituting authoritarian rule.

the point of using violence to contest control is to diminish the opposition's will to continue to commit violence, and then to demonstrate that it lacks that will. where you suspect that the opposition begins without the will for that contest, creating it by shooting first is a bad play.

Is it good when you're a company and the kind of people you sell your product to are willing to stand out in the cold to protest your shithead fascist CEO

AOC believes in Democratic Tea Party 2026. Do you?

i absolutely believe this is where we are headed. this has always been the playbook. sartre wrote in 1945 that they delight in their own bad faith. in 2017, andrew anglin made it the official editorial policy for his nazi blog. it’s always “just a joke,” but the punchline is actual violence.

By accepting Trump’s anti-Black premise and regurgitating the narrative that equates anything Black as DEI, the NY Times has become part of the propaganda machine

This should be understood as a crime against humanity.

Astoundingly good “WIRED” article about my being firing from VA and what it means Author Lily Hay Newman does an incredible job capturing the high stakes of compromising the security of VA.gov […]

"Now we give it away to transgender". Tariffs Otaku adopting other weeb positions as we speak. Big Woke took femboy tariffs away and gave them to transgender. :(

This was the moment, just over a month ago, when the ADL could've put an end to Republicans doing Nazi salutes. They didn't. They chose instead to provide cover by calling it "an awkward gesture in a moment of enthusiasm." Now the sieg heil salute has been normalized. The ADL literally had ONE JOB.

Good insight from Stancil

Elon Musk is the Mike Lindell of Trump 2.0. He’s an upgrade in terms of star power and wealth, but just as conspiracy-addled, overly online, and completely ignorant about how government or society functions.

This is the most wretched campaign of deliberate, explicit persecution the United States has perpetrated against a minority group in decades. Many of the most important people in politics and journalism are busying themselves trying to figure out how little to say or do about it.

To clarify, Lisa Rein's scoop is that Leland Dudek was being investigated by the general counsel's office when DOGE tapped him to lead the agency, AND investigating officials believed he may be violating privacy and tax laws. 1/

PBS Newshour gave a twelve minute interview to Daily Wire host Michael Knowles, who has called for the “eradication” of trans people from society

more and more people are saying

Just look at these paragraphs from the AP story. Hegseth called Brown unqualified solely because he's Black. Then they fired him... and replaced him with a white guy so indisputably unqualified that he requires a Presidential waiver. This is what "merit" means to them. apnews.com/article/trum...

Chat is it good for your argument when the AG starts corncobbing about how his lawyers did a very good job and the judge was very mean

> Pro-Israel > Anti-Syria > Pro-Putin > Anti-Ukraine > Pro-Modi > Anti-Europe Well, you have to admit. Tulsi Gabbardism is now formal US foreign policy.

Trump to shut down all 8,000 EV charging ports at federal govt buildings

This is how it’s done.

Oh fuck, what a grift. J6 terrorists sue a DOJ controlled by Trump; Trump orders DOJ lawyers to settle for an undisclosed amount, both sides agree to an NDA. This can happen dozens, hundreds of times. Just an ingenious way to funnel tax dollars to far-right terrorist groups.
