"The west is 'protecting freedom and democracy' by stomping out its own freedom and democracy to assist the genocidal atrocities of a nation that is also stomping out freedom and democracy."

I loathe Biden's policies and his complicity in genocide. But the other candidate equally supports Israel AND plans to begin a nationwide Purge against illegal immigrants using the National Guard. This election is purely damage control, that's the best we can hope for until the revolution comes.

I have such a deep problem with New Age ideas that denigrate the ego. I've seen multiple friends spiral into mental illness because of these beliefs, further destabilizing an already unstable psyche and taking them in the exact wrong direction from a healthy, functional life.

A natural basic income experiment began in the mid-1990s and how the kids — now in their 30s and 40s — are doing is incredible. As adults, they have fewer drug problems and their average IQ is higher. By age 26, the benefits of the UBI exceeded its cost by 3-to-1. academicminute.org/2014/06/jane...

Capitalism and patriarchy (and empires and genocide) are relatively recent human inventions; they are not a given, and they didn’t arise out of nowhere. More than these specific manifestations, I’m interested in what in us humans gave rise to such things in the first place.

The insanity of this culture cannot be overstated. But so many can't see it because the scale is just so astronomical: it's causing the 6th mass extinction in the 6 BILLION YEARS of the Earth's existence. That's incomprehensible to our human brains, just as is the scale of a billion vs a million.

This is on the level of the Nazi doctors during the Holocaust. They truly have become precisely what they were victims of before. Their actions will go down in history as a lesson about the cycle of violence moving through an entire culture, that will be taught to countless future generations.

“The fact that millions of people share the same vices does not make these vices virtues, the fact that they share so many errors does not make the errors to be truths, and the fact that millions of people share the same mental pathology does not make these people sane.” - Erich Fromm

To me it's our true home. Where wildness reigns because we aren't masters of all. We don't "own" it and we don't control it. The modern concept of wilderness is flawed though, because it "others" nature & separates it from us. To our distant ancestors the land was a vast garden, carefully tended.

"When associations are found, they suggest not that social-media use predicts or causes depression, but that young people who already have mental-health problems use such platforms more often or in different ways from their healthy peers." www.nature.com/articles/d41...

My life in Sedona, AZ:

Fun facts: The GOP has won the popular vote for president only once since 1988. And Republican senators have represented a majority of Americans only for one Congress in the past 40 years, despite having a Senate majority more than half that time. Our political system is fundamentally flawed.

This makes chilling sense, because of just how much neurodivergence is still stigmatized and demeaned in our culture - most often without people even realizing it. ND traits have been considered "degenerate" or "pathological" for generations.

I've always felt very unattached to my name, as well as my birthday or any other meaningless info about me. What matters are my ideas and personality - THAT'S who I am.

Doing our personal work does not make us immune to the worst behavior humans are capable of. It's not a magic pill, but rather a set of tools to address the issues that ALL of us inevitably have to deal with - and a commitment to use them when needed.

What resonates with us is not necessarily true. Resonance occurs when we encounter something that confirms our pre-existing belief system. Only once we accept this reality do we become able to avoid the trap of self-deception. While those who believe "intuition" is king are fully taken by it.
