my fav part in e1 is the animation when vash is screaming from the rooftops and the animation when he dodges all those bullets, it was done so well and so fluidly i never get tired of watching it

fabric for the arm: wyla.com/products/4-w...

for the lower arm pieces, i used elastic bands that i bonded to the inner sides of the arm. i chose black elastic bc i wore a black armsleeve under the arm, but you could do this in the color of your choice. i chose black bc it is easier to photoshop it out to make it look like empty space!

for final construction: bond the "top" pieces together with contact cement. they will sit on your upper arm and stay there for the most part. you could insert velcro here to attach it to your coat sleeve if it has too much free movement for your taste, but mine literally just sits snug on my arm.

when i was happy w everything i bonded the fabric! this was the most time consuming but also the most satisfying. i will link my fabric choice at the end but i was so proud of the shine on it! perfect iridescent look to it imo. (used LED EVA foam for the hole pieces 2 add lights down the line)

here is the arm at its halfway stage. most important thing was adjusting until I was happy with the fit and the shapes!

for the "bone" pieces you will need to use a dremel to get the shape. WEAR A RESPIRATOR WHEN YOU DREMEL!!! this also required adjustment until i was happy w the shapes. then i used loctite adhesive spray to bond the fabric to the bigger pieces, contact cement to lock them down on the back sides.

now the rest of the arm! i cut pieces + trimmed to size for my own arm. this required lots of test fittings & adjusting. remember that you will have your coat fabric on UNDER the arm so fit accordingly! i tried this on w/ my coat like 10+ times until i was happy. just use masking tape to test fit!

i 3dprinted the knuckles bc they were actual hell to try to dremel, and then contact cemented the fabric + attached to the glove. also did the wrist piece (in bg) and attached velcro w contact cement to fit my wrist size. that piece you want snug so fit it w/o the rest of the arm on.

after cutting the hand pieces out of 2mm foam and heating/preparing them, start to bond using contact cement to your glove piece. WEAR A GLOVE UNDERNEATH IT! you dont want to contact cement it through the glove to your skin. (ask me how i know.)

using a heat gun and careful contact cementing, i shaped the hand pieces and cemented the fabric to them creating clean edges. adjust the hand pieces as needed to get a fit you are happy with. i did a lot of adjusting here.

i hand sewed my base glove for the hand piece because i found it gave a cleaner fit after a few attempts with my machine. you will want the edges serged and trimmed before you start cementing things to it!

small pieces were cut out with an exacto knife (so like, ALL the hand pieces) and larger ones using a hot knife. you could still use an exacto blade for those but i found the hot knife offered cleaner edges that didn't need to be gone back over!

materials i used for this: 2, 5, 6 and 8mm EVA foam, spray adhesive (i found LocTite worked best after trying a few brands), a dremel, contact cement, velcro, elastic, 4way metallic stretch spandex, heat gun optional: 3d printer. i 3d printed the knuckles using a free arm pattern on thingiverse!

I used Gehe's arm pattern (ko-fi.com/s/6345a99c18) and modified some parts/fabric choices/attatchments to make it easier to fit myself/a smaller arm!
