Real rough for new grads. I imagine in some ways it’s worse to see people a few years ahead doing great but then having the ladder pulled up vs a recession that hits broadly

anecdotally, I've seen way more explicitly antisemitic things posted by younger folks (e.g., the "wikipedia early life" dogwhistle) on misc social media in the last few months

I think you wrote something in the past about all sorts of futures being foreclosed upon but being at peace with that because of how nice this life actually is. Definitely resonates now, there are a lot of things that I know I am just not going to do in life and that’s OK

My wife has joked that the demographic I get along best with is folks in their lates 30s / 40s (we’re in our late 20s). This is even truer now than it was before now that we have a kid

I want to hear your ideas! Everything I can think of is generally applicable (spend time with family, go outside and enjoy the weather, etc.)

I have a legit disgust response to a few tpot accounts, the ones always talking about social norms and then posting the most racist shit on the website

Maybe we’re thinking about different kinds of book stores. I’m thinking of a place like Melville Books in Portland OR — something like 4000 used books from estate / library sales in a converted garage behind a cottage. Very good curation and selection.

That sounds very high. I guess if you’re running a new book store in an expensive city?
