Would we know, if combat aircraft left the continental US at the same time as the tankers? Guessing they are not gonna show up on flightradar.

But the national guard hasn't... y'know... done anything yet, right? I was watching the streams yesterday and it seemed like only LAPD were actually involved with the protesters. But of course, why should reality stand in the way of declaring victory πŸ˜‘

Damage looks to be caused by the strike at 2:07. No hole prior to this impact. v.redd.it/67sskr8eyw4f...

The KC-130 J models can carry hellfire missiles, maybe the H variant can as well? Could be that the propeller noise from the KC-130 was misinterpreted as a drone, and that the strike came directly from the plane. Do we have other evidence that a drone was necessarily involved?

Re: water rights: "Experts say it's nearly impossible for India to hold back tens of billions of cubic metres of water from the western rivers during high-flow periods." But during drier seasons the situation might be different. www.bbc.com/news/article...

NOT an expert on indus water use infrastructure - but after a brief look around on Maps it seems to me that of the three rivers that Pakistan is granted, only the Chenab river has some small scale diversion infrastructure on indian side. Seems like posturing or 10+ years of engineering effort ahead.

This isn't even the slippery slope anymore. This is where the slippery slope led to.

Well, that seems incredibly unlikely to be agreeable to the Iranians. So, either this is posturing or they're really gonna start a war with Iran. Good times.

I imagine the guy from 1999 is gonna give you a blank stare when you compare anything to 9/11

Like it or not Pretend to prioritize PACOM as you wish CENTCOM will consume all

That's actually a pretty good idea. Although, will UA be able to retain enough manpower in the army when/if a ceasefire is reached? How many will return to civilian life.

So the statements we've seen from the Russian side regarding sanctions relief from the west are not part of the agreed deal? Do you think they have made a side deal with the Americans, or is it just disinformation?

European moped mechanics will have that thing chip-tuned back up to 100% in an afternoon. Though this is probably good news for allies. Now they can be certain that American products cannot be trusted, and will buy domestic instead.

It's back - for now. Clear that everyone should have a plan B when crucial info sources like this can be taken away at a moments notice for no good reason.

This is what the death of US soft power looks like. How can we give you basing rights and refuel US ships when it seems they are equally likely to shoot at us Europeans as they are the Russians. To be clear I know where you stand on this. But just two months ago our nations would have fought together

Donated €100 - I know you guys can make it count πŸ’ͺ You have the support of Europe still

Maybe the tactic to responding to this should be to simply ignore further statements from trump&co. I mean, how do you make a rational response to an incoherent and delusional message. I think trumps ego would not like to be ignored.

I don't think I have ever heard that man say something factually correct.

It's not Elons fault, he's only following his orders from Moscow

I like the bit where he claims you can't connect a satellite to a ground based system. Like okay genius how are we communicating with the satellites then?
comment in response to post
Is there a translation error on the "CNC" bit? Because the math doesn't add up really. E.g for Italy $169 million for 4459 β€œCNC" machines. That's only $38k per machine, which you can not get much for. Even a 'cheap' full size CNC machine will cost $500k easily.

It's time to Make American businesses Uncompetitive Again. Who knows, maybe this will be what it takes for EU companies to start buying EU made again.

That's a whole lot of words just to write "what airdefense doing"

Ah the classic "we didn't shoot the plane down, but if we did shoot it down it's the pilots fault" 🀑

What airdefense doing?

From this damage, and the crash video and flight radar track, it seems likely that they had a total or near-total loss of hydraulic pressure and lost control authority of the aircraft. RIP to the innocent people killed, death to the Russian terrorists.

Good - the quicker their relationship falls apart, the less the world has to suffer from Elons delusions of grandeur. They both clearly want to be #1. It is inevitably going to end in a shit storm.

Asking grok to guess the future is such a roundabout way of pulling a number out of your ass. I can make up statistics on the spot without the computational power of 100,000 GPUs.

It always hurts to see long UA loss lists, but of course it's important work to give us a realistic look at the war.
comment in response to post
Fair enough I suppose. I hope that they haven't been able to destroy all the evidence material yet.
comment in response to post
What do they hope to achieve by this 'formal request'? It seems obvious that it will be denied. Time to put the big boy pants on and board the ship anyway.

Note how the gear is placed behind the wing and center tanks on e.g. the A321
comment in response to post
Nah. Many commercial planes have their main landing gear pretty close to the fuel tanks, but the gear is built so strong that you'd call it a crash rather than a landing before any fuel tanks are punctured.

How much do you think decisions like this will be impacted by the collapse of the traffic light coalition? Will decisions be postponed to after the election, or rushed through before?
