Coliseum was also home to WHL Canucks, Blazers, Nats and Voodoo.

I don’t need to. The grandfather clause also benefits Quebec, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. Not to mention the senatorial clause. So you concede that parliamentary representation is not based on current population? There are no clauses that benefit British Columbia.

This is not completely true. Origin is a consideration as well three must be from Quebec, three from Ontario. The rest of the country gets the other three.

BC averages one MP for 133,000. Yukon 1 for 47,000. Quebec one to 114,000. In every category I’ve mentioned BC is under represented for population and geography.

You may wish to review your statement. BC with 6 million has 6 senators. Quebec 9 million has 24. PEI with 180,000 has 4.

Then there needs to be change. British Columbians have the least representation in parliament, the Senate, the cabinet, the Supreme Court and Rideau Hall.

More than six million Californians voted for Trump.

If you aren’t actively changing the system that brought him to power, you bear some responsibility.

It’s not a hockey club committed to winning. It merely generates revenue and photo ops for the owner.

I think the election will be decided in Laurentia with a Liberal majority. With just one cabinet minister British Columbians are not served by Carney. We need to go Green or NDP to advance our interests.

With just 47,000 inhabitants, why does Yukon have a seat in parliament? British Columbia has one member for every 133,000.

Similar experience in Bay Willowbrook. Entire departments (jewellery, fragrance) had no discounts.

What are you doing for homes in south west British Columbia?
comment in response to post
Definitely. BC wants the AK panhandle and Puget Sound back.

Why can’t I imagine a newly minted Canadian PM attending a Vancouver event?

I hope I understand your point. But in BC Punjabi, Chinese, German and Tagalog are more common than French. The Laurentian duality is 4000 km away and irrelevant. But a unlingual BCer cannot be PM or Supreme Court justice. QCers have to accept a diminished role or BC joins our Pacific neighbours.

Quebec sold out the Francophones in NB, ON, MB and SK in order to be declared “distinct”. In 15 years QC will be less than 15% of the nation’s pop. and politically irrelevant without allies. Three Anglo/allo provinces will be larger but the outdated bicultural constituent will apply.
comment in response to post
Laurentia’s bicultural narrative is irrelevant to the West. Francophones comprise less than 10 percent of our population. Indigenous, Asian and Hispanic Canadians are our emerging communities. Your issues are not ours.

No, thanks. I came to Bluesky after closing my accounts with the tech oligarchs.

Just one British Columbian and one Manitoban to represent half the country. How can you not be embarrassed to run the West as a colony of Laurentia? More of the same.

He ought to given the current climate. He should conclude a strategic partnership with the NDP and Greens against progressive vote-splitting.

Thanks for this piece. I had never heard of this. My grandfather was a volunteer. This makes me disappointed in some of his fellow Canadians.

A least give the Panhandle to British Columbia.
