In Russia, intelligence is artificial, stupidity is natural, and nonsense is professional.

The Ukraine War made me aware of what the Kremlin's "Ruskii Mir" truly means. And, in that sense, it made me a Russophobic maniac: "A good Russian is a dead Russian, and a very good Russian is a dead Russian long, long ago."

"Contraflation" seems the most adequate word for describing, according with economics theory, the real economical situation at this Russian Empire: high inflation combined with full economic regression. This is even worse than non-growth coupled with inflation, that we had in the West.

Aren't we forgeting the real possibility that Russia's economy is already collapsing since the last quarter of 2024, and that all this financial-monetary rodeo sustained by the duet Finance Ministry/Central Bank is the ultimate Potemkin screen?

There is something new: it seems that NWF liquid ruble assets are paying for the public debt interests...

Easy does it... the Russian National Guard will be on maximum alert during the two holidays of 8th and 9th of May: no need to expect a Chinese coup d'État in Moscow that, by the way, is a city with 13 million dwellers.

Slavery (at that time, named hereditary indentured servitude) was abolished in Russia only in the late XIX century: they still are all mujiks to their core.

The Kremlin will send GRU agentes to collect the fines from this injunction...

One must never, ever forget that Russia (and Russians) always lies: it's their daily bread!! If the CBR does REPO auctions regularly, then all that money is an addition to the M2 aggregate. In fact, it's even worse: the CBR is effectively recycling the same banking money through the REPO auctions...

They (CBR & Finance Ministry) don't know, and they don't want to know... they don't finance it, they just recycle it: from private debt credit to public debt titles that are monetised through the banking system into the real world economy of people and corporations...
comment in response to post
What if the CBR has set a carroussel for exchanging the mounting commercial banks low-yield credits with public high-yield debt from the REPO sales that then is monetised by State Debt auctions at the same official discount rate? The private debt is thus resold clean as public Russian debt titles...

This: "In other words, interest rates have risen on average to the level that they could have been expected to reach, the spread being equal, with the key rate raised to 24% or even higher rather than to 21%." Or: "The rate stays the same 'coz banks charge high spreads..."
