I realize that this is 9 hours too late, but typically this is the result of a latch that didn't reset. Take a picture of the door that works and grab a screwdriver. You can usually make it match the other side with a quick pry.

The skepticism is from getting your picture taken more than the frog, by my assessment.

I can take this a few ways, depending on what you want. I'll leave 3 recommendations to start:
1. Prayer for the wild built (Sci fi, positive and warming, a journey of discovery)
2. All the light we cannot see (fiction, ww2 setting)
3. Mimic - a book I wrote (roll eyes here) shorturl.at/Uptf9

Is that Google docs?
Yes. I have this weird thing where I look at what other authors use to write their books...

I'm not asking for you to be positive online, but asking you not to add to the hate, which I do not think you will (based on posts). Keep posting, keep writing, keep selling.

We get to control our own echo chambers when the overlords allow. We get to when we are here, so I'm in for the proverbial £1.01.
Please stay. The internet is better with positive people on it.

And I completely agree about the Amazon problem. Ereaders are another nuance where kindle owns such a large market share it prevents authors from getting seen unless they use kindle.
Amazon's kindle select is even a forced monopoly, trying to forecast itself as a library type model!

I'm gathering from context this is a UK centric piece (and therefore may not apply), but curious as to your thoughts on Bookshop.org?
My understanding is that it is attempting to do just what you propose.

Another unpopular opinion: use Ai as a starting point (underlined, emphasized, etc. On the word "starting"). You'll find it interesting to see what something without emotional attachment to the story comes up with.
Just make sure you rewrite it in your voice and not just copy/paste.

Optimist: But do you notice how gender is not addressed?
FDA, for example, recognizes there is a difference between sex and gender for the purpose of clinical studies. (section 2)
