Fighting Fantasy was my gateway drug.
A few kids in my class also had some so we would exhange books. Then when we were about 12 one of my friends got D&D basic. I bought WFRP when that came out the year after and been playing/running games ever since.

I take joy in reading them and great pleasure in running/playing games with my friends. The old human pass-time of telling stories together surely have never had a better medium than this. I have no specific research I to back this up, but certainly feels like it is improving my well-being.

100%. Running this using OSE.
And the only other active GM in my group is alternating between Fallout RPG and D&D 5e.

I've never had to chance to play it myself, but I've read and heard good things (Grognard Files).
I also enjoyed this actual play by the Glass Cannon Network a lot.

Checking in my log of those sessions I think my experience matched your review quite closely. I did modify the module quite a bit, and did make my own big battle at the end.
We somehow made the siege last over 40 hours of play spread over 6 months.

The Thing (1982) is great and it becomes a true masterpiece if you are a 14 year old Norwegian watching it for the first time on VHS back in 1987.π
If only that Norwegian's aim had been better well the movie would have been a lot shorter...

Great review!
I used the Siege of Diesdorf (with some modifications) as the climax of my last WFRP 4e campaign. It worked really well, at least I thought it did π§π

Push the button! Sigh, I wish I had your strength.
I'm unable to stop myself from buying almost anything those dastardly Swedes produce and I'm Norwegian so you would think it should be easy for me.

Symbaroum is great! I'm currently running my group through The Throne of Thorns and we just finished book 3 so half-way there. We should finish in a year or two π
Stupid Swedes making excellent games that I have to buy.

They're currently testing out a system that emits "scary" sounds like humans talking, dogs barking and wolves howling to try and scare the moose and reindeer away from the track.

Only thing I found that I doubt has anything to do with the new hosting is that the "New In Store" link goes to a page not on Hivemill.

Do Dragonlance! You can easily make it a bit grim and dark.
It is war after all.

So you have joined a cultπ
I just look at all the awesome art in those booksπ
I would start with the Starter Set do the solo adventure and run the scenarios included in it. If you have all the books you probably also have them in PDF, so search those if you need to look up something.
