I’m a big fan of wet pavement so you can guess my level of enjoyment for this film

It’s just that “led by ex nazis” as a phrase bothered me because it ignores centuries of our own political dynamics for what was a foreign affairs dalliance. Hell we sold grain to the ussr at the same time. Plus it’s the fascists here that had more political influence, historically.

I don’t get the point. Would you say Japan is run by ex nazis? That the Netherlands is run by ex nazis? Sweden? That’s the claim I’m disputing.

Never said Argentina hadn’t been nazi friendly, but calling the ruling powers of the country ex nazis says to me that more books are to be read, we have our brand of bastards

Whether I am is irrelevant I think. Argentinian neutrality in WW2, even if biased, does not mean a) it reflects modern politics in any way, b) it affected the composition of the elites in the country

Hard to call either an ex nazi, country is made up by mob lords, junkers, and eugenicists but each is its own separate faction.

Fun make believe, but pretty uninformed. If Russia gets ice Eritrea, I’d like an accurate epithet for my country.

That’s one of my favorite bits too, and it got me hyped up in the intro… but it felt like it served nothing in particular by the end of the movie.

Acting is good but I don’t think direction was anything to write home about, plenty films that execute a good ambiance for a film with no point. Maybe it would have been more enjoyable as a campy fun romp, rather than Blackcoat's Daughter 2.

Oh I see, you got Starship Troopered by the film. The final shot was meant to establish that anyone who still believes the protagonist to be morally right is an idiot.

The duel against the sword master summarizes the whole film so aptly.
