My mom compared me directly to Stalin when I left the Mormon church because, in her thinking, atheists have no reason not to murder *constantly*. I told her that I now know she entertains barely controlled homicidal ideations and I’m thankful she stays in whatever church will have her

Classic “‘Although the argument was emotionally charged, there was no physical abuse involved.’ She said bruises were from medical conditions and activities from a recent overseas trip.”

I’d like to apologize to myself for having read this victim-blaming nonsense—truly one of the dumbest “arguments” I’ve ever come across. The grown ups always bear the responsibility. To learn. To teach. To lead. To act.

Sincere condolences. Your excellence is likely part of why you have been let go—which is no consolation.

Sincere condolences. Income isn’t the only thing lost—and it’s not really what they want from you and your comrades, anyway. Wishing you solid support and the comfort of knowing that you hated them first.

It’s the insipidly positive profiles and comments that aggravate me the most but my block reflex is strong, either way. I’m all for a disagreement but there’s a *feel* one gets that’s similar to the feel of looking at an AI image—even the “good” ones. Like I tell my kids: trust your gut

I was a theater/writer kid who went into IU, Bloomington as an opera performance major but left w a Chem degree. Went to grad school in Biochem & worked in STEM ed—& was horrified by it. STEM is *only* a workforce initiative by/for chambers of commerce. The core of the drive for STEM is cheap labor
