Where should i get a job

What is common knowledge in your field, but shocks outsiders? The reason government websites sites are so terrible is because the software contracts create these mini monopolies where a vendor can charge whatever they want for simple site updates.

Brutal.

A blow to one group’s rights is a blow to everyone’s rights. Our legal system is based on precedent. Trans people will not be the only group of people hurt by this ruling.

Next time Anita Hill opens her mouth we better fucking listen.

The NYT was cited in the Supreme Court ruling used to strip trans people of healthcare. This is EXACTLY WHY the “just asking questions” crowd of centrist edgelord journalists are dangerous. They launder transphobia through faux neutral “debate” and act like it’s intellectual curiosity

The Emancipation Proclamation still left many persons enslaved. Delaware and Kentucky did not end slavery until the ratification of the 13th Amendment in December of 1865. Freedom came by federal law, not a moral conscience. 63 days til Slavery Remembrance Day. #CountdowntoSRD

My theory is that eyebrows follow their own trend cycle separate from fashion. If someone isn’t quite looking period despite the clothes and hair being perfect, it’s always the eyebrows.

Here’s a cat defending crypto and they say BlueSky is dead

Legal friends: if the ERA had passed, would today’s [devastating] SCOTUS ruling have been possible?

accidentally revealing that the republican and democrat lines on trans people are exactly the same: we are not people and we are certainly not Americans

Every year that passes, I come to better appreciate just how traumatic members of the US elite find it to be yelled at by progressive young people. It is *vastly* more upsetting to them than being yelled at by reactionaries. They warp their entire identities & ideologies around it!

The leader New York City needs is a man who can parrot what millions of people have been saying on social media the day after it would have been remotely helpful.

its probably a little bad that so much of the scholarship on transness in the 2010s freedom was oriented around taxonomizing how transness did not exist in history while cisness and man/woman did, that transness was a late modernity form rather than a historicizing lens, and that

Shorter Alito's concurrence: "The majority said the law doesn't discriminate against transgender status. I disagree. I think it does discriminate against transgender status and that's good." He's just completely given up on the game and is happy to tell everyone what the majority really believes.

once again — if you’re one of the fortunate ones in a big blue city you need to start thinking about how your community can handle a big influx of vulnerable, scared newcomers. this is not hypothetical, it is happening now

Years ago, companies were using robotic automation to threaten food service and retail workers clamoring for minimum wage. Didn't work. Gen AI is the equivalent of that for the white collar workers demanding WFH and better work-life balance.

Religion was not explicitly an issue in Skrmetti, but the gender affirming care bans we've seen across the country were cooked up by Christian nationalist activists, and SCOTUS upholding the TN ban is more evidence of how we are increasingly living under Christian nationalist law.
