First clip from my interview with former NFL player @chriswarcraft.bsky.social Chris Kluwe about why he chose to be arrested for civil disobedience at his right wing city council meeting this week in protest of MAGA. More clips to come before we release the whole interview. Chris is fiire.

The Washington Post refused to run this ad. Sure would be a shame if it went viral.

again, this is the easiest political slam dunk in the world find a veteran with a lifetime of public service who has been fired for no reason and bring him on television with you do it again tomorrow with a different veteran, and again, and again show the human cost

Adams must be removed. The city cannot sustain being governed for nearly a year by a Mayor who is being coerced by Trump admin in order to escape charges. This corruption poses a real threat to the people of the city. He should have resigned a while ago, but will not. So it’s time for him to go.

REPOST if you support our federal workforce and know how dedicated they are to their jobs. Show them you appreciate them!

In the three weeks Elon Musk has been in charge of unilaterally slashing government spending, the U.S. government has paid one of his companies, SpaceX, more than $43 million.

I think it's worth repeating plainly that a federal judge halted Musk's federal funding freeze nearly two weeks ago but funds are still very much being frozen in violation of the court order.

Chris Murphy: "I think this is the most serious constitutional crisis the country has faced, certainly since Watergate. The president is attempting to seize control of power, and for corrupt purposes ... he's trying to crush his opposition ... this is a red alert moment ... our democracy is at risk"

NEW — I spoke to a staffer at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) about DOJ's threat to pull funding if the org didn't comply with Trump's DEI executive order, and how org leadership rolled over. "Rather than fight back, we chose to sacrifice trans children," they said.

I'm holding a citizen meeting in West Hartford to talk about what I'm doing and what people can do to fight back against Trump's seizure of government for the billionaire class. 1/ Unfortunately, we've maxed out the space, so here's a 🧵 on what you can do.

Many are asking: “What can I do now?” Here’s a revised and expanded list of actions you can take, in rough order of importance. https://robertreich.substack.com/p/more-on-what-you-can-do

US farmers sold $2 billion of food to USAID. Not any more. - US farmers provided 41% of food delivered by USAID - $340M of purchases/shipments are now paused. Over 680,000 tonnes. - Food stranded in Houston - Aid stopped in transit. The world’s poor starving, food rotting & US farmers screwed.

Left: Interim U.S. Attorney Ed Martin dismisses Jan. 6 case of Jose Padilla on Jan. 21, 2025 Right: Interim US Attorney Ed Martin seeks withdraw as Padilla’s counsel of record on Feb. 5, 2025 He signed a dismissal for a client he was still recorded as representing.

In light of Trump II’s first 18 days of mayhem — including his and Musk’s coup against our system of government — many are asking: “What can I do now?” Here’s a revised and expanded list, in rough order of importance.

Top Dem on the House Intel Committee Jim Himes says in a statement that he understands that the White House “insisted” on the CIA transmitting the list in an unclassified email

Murphy: "We need to act like a real opposition party in the middle of a constitutional and democracy crisis. That means we should not be moving forward nominees or legislation in the Senate. Ds should not be giving votes to nominee or legislation in the Senate until Rs get serious about this crisis"

Proud to have written a guest column @marisakabas.bsky.social's The Handbasket about what the last couple of weeks have felt like as a trans journalist to report on my own civil rights disappearing in real time. www.thehandbasket.co/p/guest-colu...

“I don’t think the United States Senate should vote for a single nominee until this is over!” - @chrismurphyct.bsky.social

If you're protesting tomorrow: "I invoke my rights to silence and counsel and will not answer questions without my attorney present." MEMORIZE THAT, because aside from asking if you're free to leave (or providing ID if you're in a stop and ID state), that's the ONLY thing you ever say to cops.

Hear me out — If parents call colleges freaked about their FAFSA data being leaked, schools may have to issue statements — which would reach a whole lot more families about how warped this is. Organizing isn’t always calling electeds. Sometimes it’s just calling people with a bigger megaphone.

UPDATE: 8 Dems voted today to confirm yet another Trump nominee during Musk's coup: Bennett (CO), Gallego (AZ), Hassan (NH), Heinrich (NM), Hickenlooper (CO), King (ME), Lujan (NM), Shaheen (NH). If you're a constituent, don't just call - write an op-ed, protest their office, make clear you care.

We're going to be outside Treasury tomorrow at 5 PM to ask Elon Musk what he's doing with our money. SHARE AND JOIN US: www.mobilize.us/moveon/event...

One of my party facts is that according to polls, Americans believe foreign aid is about 25% of the federal budget and on average that it *should* be about 10%. The actual number is less than 1%. Foreign aid has long been a boogey man of the right, so it's not surprising they're vilifying it now.

Really hard to get any work done when there's a constitutional crisis on

SCHATZ: “.. I will oppose unanimous consent. I will vote no. I will do maximal delays until this is resolved.” @wsj.com www.wsj.com/politics/pol...

FYI

An EEOC admin. judge sent a fiery all-department email this AM alleging: 1. Trump's exec orders & instructions to target private citizens with them are illegal. 2. the judge had sent an earlier email with a similar tone yesterday that later vanished from their sent folder & colleagues' inboxes.

Indivisible is urging people to visit their senators' local offices between now and Thursday to demand that they use every tool—including denying a quorum and blocking unanimous consent—to fight the confirmation of Project 2025 architect Russell Vought for head of OMB docs.google.com/document/d/1...

United together people hold the real power! Yesterday we rallied at the CT State Capitol in Hartford. We're calling on our leaders to pledge to protect people and resist Trump's antidemocratic and immoral agenda. Sign the pledge at act.surj.org/a/signon #SURJ #ProtectAndResist

Thank you, Canada!

Indivisible is holding an organizing call Sunday night from 8-9pm ET. I’ll be joining. You can register here:

Federal prosecutors investigating Republican Rep. Andy Ogles for fraud were just withdrawn from the case without explanation. Trump openly celebrated the move. Ogles recently introduced a resolution to allow Trump a possible third term as president. www.newschannel5.com/news/newscha...

Here are the options on the table (which are not mutually exclusive): 1. House Dems bring articles of impeachment* 2. Senate Dems play constitutional hardball and obstruct everything 3. State AGs litigate (and prosecute) everything they can 4. Citizens march en mass

Rep. Jamie @raskin.house.gov says Donald Trump’s “incompetence” and “gross mismanagement” factored into the plane crash near DCA: “the FAA was left rudderless for 10 days leading up to the deadly crash because apparent co-president Elon Musk aggressively demanded the ouster of the FAA chief”

This is what the government did with 120K+ Japanese Americans in 1942. I know. I was there in those camps.

Every single fucking state government run by a Democrat should do this. Fight the fuck back already.

Women deserve to know the TRUTH about the impact of Texas' total abortion ban. Today, I along with Rep. Gerry Connolly, Rep. Summer Lee, and Rep. Ayanna Pressley sent ANOTHER letter calling on Texas to explain why it won't release maternal mortality data from the past 2 years after Dobbs.

Okay, I cannot recommend 5calls.org enough. Enter your address and it will find all your reps (federal and state). AND give you a list of issues to call about AND which reps to call about each of them AND a little script for each, in case it's helpful. They have an app, too.

When the Patriot Act was passed, libraries got requests for patrons’ borrowing history. We were prohibited from disclosing those requests. We deleted and shredded those records and stopped tracking reading history for that reason. ALSO.

Yes, this administration is dangerous and cruel, but they are also shockingly dim and incompetent. Opportunities are everywhere. Make everything as hard as possible. Resist every demand. Refuse entry without a warrant. Don’t take the buyout. Their problem solving skills are 📉

Sen Chris Murphy (D-CT) just now: “You could literally walk down the street and the first 100 people you’d find would be less dangerous as the head of HHS than Robert F Kennedy Jr. He will get people killed”

Here's how to contact your senators and reps. I promise, it's quick and easy www.usa.gov/elected-offi...

Dems can: -oppose all Trump nominees until this EO is withdrawn -deny unanimous consent to slow senate proceedings -vote no on all cloture -force quorum calls at every chance It’s a constitutional crisis. There is absolutely no reason the Senate should be connecting business as usual.

Keep making the calls to reps and senators. They are listening.

This is a great morning to call all your elected officials and ask them to absolutely lose their shit

The US President is currently blocking our infectious disease early warning system by cutting off communication between the CDC and the WHO—communication that is *essential* to the health and wellbeing of the country he purports to govern. He is putting every American at risk.
