I'm shocked that room isn't full of cigar smoke.

What's the point of retiring a number if you're going to let anybody who asks wear it?

Serious question: why is Kiper Jr. so invested in Sanders' draft position? Why is he so emotional about it?

I would add the finale of The Shield to that list.

He immediately began sputtering and stammering while the room erupted in laughter. "I've been watching football for 50 years!" Too late. The damage was done. And he hasn't complained about women covering football since. The end.

And that's when, in an entire room full of people, at a family event, I loudly clarified that his primary objection was that they had never played. "Well of course! How can you talk about it if you never even played!" "Oh, ok. I'm just wondering where you played football?" My god, the reaction!

My father-in-law was complaining about women covering football. He's a stereotypical Chicago Bears, football isn't football anymore, Dick Butkus, football fan. He was complaining about women and how they had no business covering it. They haven't even ever played the sport!

I like how they say the hypnosis didn't work so the young actor had to pretend instead of "He was not susceptible to hypnosis and suffered lifelong trauma as a result of filming horrific scenes with live ammunition directed at his head."

Any chance Pope Francis named someone 'cardinal in pectore' the previous year? And that person just might, perhaps, show up unexpectedly and ask to be admitted to the conclave? Any chance at all?

Sounds like a good double feature with Threads. youtu.be/vgT4Y30DkaA?...

2. The director planned to have Aleksey Kravchenko hypnotized by a psychotherapist during the most dreadful and violent scenes so that they wouldn't affect his young mind. However, he turned out not to be susceptible to hypnosis and had to pretend all the way.

I've never heard of this but just watched the trailer. It does look harrowing. Two pieces of WTF trivia from the IMDB page: 1. Live ammunition was used during filming. In interviews, Aleksey Kravchenko has described bullets passing 10 centimeters above his head.

How is it that #Conclave just came out last year and I haven't seen a single joke/reference to it since the Pope died? Am I just traveling in different circles? Surely there are some good [spoiler] jokes being made?

🎧 I know everyone steals from everyone, but come on. Sharp Pins is admittedly worse, but between them both, this is Vanilla Ice levels of "No, Queen's is dadadadadaduh. Mine goes dadadadadaDAduh. They're not the same!" youtu.be/5eNljSR-U0Y?...

I use the Niagara launcher on the Pixel 9 Pro and I love the experience. I've tried to go back to the stock or other launchers and can't do it. Niagara is amazing.

I was interested in the Wyatt Cenac story, as I was unaware of it. Found this: www.vulture.com/2015/07/jon-...

Seems like a lot for Virgin Olive Oil. You probably could have got the Extra VOO at that price.

Just curious if you've ever seen the movie Margin Call and what you thought of it? As someone completely disconnected from that world, it feels like a movie with a lot of truth, even if the events are exceedingly dramatized. Stellar cast, too.
