While still overall healthy, jobless claims have definitely edged up in the past 2 weeks. My guess is we will see more evidence towards the end of March and certainly later this year.

U.S. unemployment numbers will be dragged in Feb. 2025 by approximately 55,000 newly unemployed, due to federal employee and federal contractor layoffs. There is still a possibility for a net increase in jobs for Feb. 2025, but it's expected to be substantially smaller than the previous estimate.
