Georgia is losing *5* Social Security offices. This will make it harder for seniors, especially in rural GA, to enroll, solve payment issues, and report fraud. I will do everything I can to fight this reckless action and remain focused on getting our seniors the benefits they paid for & rely on.

BREAKING — The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has just announced the closure of major regional offices in Philly, LA and Chicago, per email shared with me. “5 alarm fire,” SEC employee tells me. Full email text:

bathroom bills were considered a hugely bigoted overreach a decade ago and the backsliding on trans rights is the result of a sustained propaganda campaign by elites the pendulum can swing back the other way if you try, and anyone who is not willing to do so is showcasing their own bigotry

The Minerva Research Initiative has funded my research on how terrorist groups adapt, how they foster malevolent creativity in tactics, how they target religious converts for recruitment, and many other areas. Through this I’ve been able to cultivate the next generation of terrorism scholars.

Here's a story that illustrates why primary sources are important & how Black history is whitewashed. It involves a mass slave escape, Government-sponsored slut-shaming, my nomination for the Blackest name in history & the guy who discovered two words that might end racism. A thread.

A 21st century USA that is hostile to multi-racial democracy, newcomers from other places, and religious pluralism...and which uses state power to advance the interests of a handful of corrupt white plutocrats, will look a lot like how most Southern states operated from the 1870s into the 1960s.

No one wants a paper trail because spending funds Congress has not appropriated is colloquially known as “stealing from the US Treasury.”

I have no doubt this is true.

I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F. 18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it. We made this website to tell our story: 18f.org

The Fulbright Foreign Student Program invites graduate students from abroad to come study in the US and guarantees funding for them to do so paid in a monthly stipend. Yesterday, some FFSP scholars received notification that they're only getting a week of their stipend.

Killing Medicaid, killing vaccines, killing Social Security: It all has one purpose. The Nazis called people who required public assistance Lebensunwertes Leben: Lives unworthy of living. They had another term too, for people unable to work — Unnütze Esser: useless eaters. The elderly, the disabled.

It was amazing to see the energy in the room shift in response to research. Go Taylor! @jtsphd.bsky.social

THIS IS HUGE! A cancer vaccine developed by Yale University and DFCI shows MAJOR promise. Results of an early-phase trial reveal ALL patients with ADVANCED stage kidney cancer had successful anti-cancer immune responses AND have remained CANCER-FREE approximately THREE years after treatment. 🧪🧵⬇️

This vote was to start the process of the cuts. It WILL come back for a final vote. There are some chances to slow or potentially stop it. Need constant pressure on GOP Focus on GOP swing seats & key committees. Energy & Commerce is where the Medicaid fight will go down. Ways&Means for tax fight.

Looks like tomorrow will bring votes on a Republican plan to fund tax cuts for the rich by slashing Medicaid. So this is a great time to contact your Member of Congress.

This week, the House is voting on a $1 trillion cut to Medicaid which provides health coverage to 2 million North Carolinians. This is a betrayal of the American people, and I hope a few Republicans show some courage and finally join us in stopping this outrageous budget scheme.

Quite the opposite approach to canvassing taken by the DNC - I've always been to move on quickly from GOP voters, not engage too long, and focus on turning out reliable supporters.

Major cuts planned for HUD will cause major disruptions in the housing market and slow housing production = ⬆️ housing prices

New additions just listed. Eager to include more planning scholars from outside the Anglo-American orbit; please suggest. go.bsky.app/GxG4vvM
