Forty-seven scientific societies have signed a letter organized by the @ucsusa.bsky.social urging Congress to protect federally funded research and federal scientists: www.ucsusa.org/about/news/s...

March 7 #StandUpForScience 🧪⚛️

Very excited to be at #NVIDIA #GTC 2025 to talk about accelerating quantum computing R&D with #AmazonBraket! We'll be diving into examples of how to combine quantum computing with scalable GPU resources in the cloud. 🗓️ Date: March 18, 2025 🎟️ Register here: lnkd.in/eXJGURP7 📝 Session ID: S73197

💕 This Valentine's Day, we're surprising the quantum computer lovers out there with the Rigetti Computing Ankaa-3 QPU, available now on Amazon Braket. Who needs chocolates when you have an 82-qubit universal gate-model QPU with some impressive performance improvements over previous devices.

Well-informed comments from Jason: Jason Alicea, a professor of theoretical physics at the California Institute of Technology, questioned whether the company had actually built a topological qubit, saying the behavior of quantum systems is often hard to prove. /1 www.nytimes.com/2025/02/19/t...

Scientists are now organizing events, called Stand Up for Science, on 7 March in Washington, D.C., and state capitals. So far, they have attracted more than 100 volunteers from some 30 states who are hoping to rally support for research as a public good. scim.ag/4328LAD

Welcome to the Bluesky account for Stand Up for Science 2025! Keep an eye on this space for updates, event information, and ways to get involved. We can't wait to see everyone #standupforscience2025 on March 7th, both in DC and locations nationwide! #scienceforall #sciencenotsilence

Brought to you by your friendly neighborhood free-speech-absolutists: academic censorship. The long term impact of these actions on US leadership in science and technology will be dramatic. www.axios.com/2025/02/09/n...

Very cool, congrats!

Guess what - our Science Moms climate ad made this top ten best (upcoming) Super Bowl ads list! The only nonprofit ad on the list! Warning: do not watch without a tissue www.nytimes.com/2025/02/07/a...

“Nature has seen the criteria for flagging grants, which call for programme officers to look for “broadening participation” language, foreign assistance, climate science, domestic energy (…)” Scientific freedom is a foundation of US prosperity. It is under threat. www.nature.com/articles/d41...

We have seen this movie many times. Now would be a good time to start supporting you local public radio station or @npr.org . whyy.org/articles/tru...

#AmazonBraket is hiring- We are looking for #QuantumComputing scientists with strong foundation in software engineering to help us work on topics including compilation, programming interfaces, and applications. If that sounds like you, we would love to hear from you! www.amazon.jobs/en/jobs/2852...

For the first time ever all the producers of operational surface temperature products will coordinate their 2024 releases on Jan 10. This includes NASA, NOAA, Hadley Centre/CRU, Berkeley Earth and Copernicus (ECMWF).

Wait- is Norm on here?

Congratulations to the 5 winning teams of the Airbus and BMW Group Quantum Computing Challenge! Their innovative proposals tackled real-world industry use cases demonstrating the transformative potential of quantum computing. Read more about their groundbreaking work. https://buff.ly/3ZLAhjP

I'm glad to be back at #Q2B for the 8th year in a row. Looking forward to my keynote tomorrow at 9am and an "Ask Us Anything" with Scott Aaronson and Yuval Boger on Thursday at 5pm. q2b.qcware.com/2024-confere...

The opening remarks are currently in progress! #NeurIPS2024

i'm no stephen hawking but i think what happens is that they cancel each other out

In case you are wondering what a Trn2 is, here is an excellent article about AWS’ chips development Amazon’s Moonshot Plan to Rival Nvidia in AI Chips www.bloomberg.com/news/feature...

This is worthy of note: "Trn2 instances offer 30-40% better price performance than the current generation of GPU-based EC2 P5e and P5en instances." Bang for your buck is important, and now you have some serious options. https://buff.ly/3Zg5qdX

Over the past months we worked together with #NVIDIA to integrate CUDA-Q with Amazon Braket. It is now easier than ever to use NVIDIA’s lightning fast simulators with scalable GPUs in the cloud. Oh, and of course you can also run on QPUs available on Braket with a one-line code change #quantum

Let me know if you want your #quantum tagged posts to be listed in this quantum feed: bsky.app/profile/did:... .

Hi everyone. I'm making the migration over from the ruins of twitter. I really hope discussion of #quantum physics and #quantumcomputing is popular here!

@physgal.bsky.social wouldn’t it be cool to turn your verified physicists/scientists lists into badges?

So far, #IonQ 's latest device, Forte-1, was only available by reservation on #AmazonBraket. Happy to share that as of today, you can access Forte-1 on-demand, so you to run circuits without making a reservation beforehand. Happy #QuantumComputing! 🧪⚛️

Nice interview, @sebastian.bsky.social

This hits too close

I am very proud of our new paper on simulations of scattering processes in (1+1)-dimensional quantum field theory. All the hard work was done by my co-authors Raghav Jha, Ash Milsted, Dominik Neuenfeld, and Pedro Vieira. arxiv.org/abs/2411.13645

@bullshitquantum.bsky.social is back!!

It's happening, right? 🧪

Look who's here! @jilascience.bsky.social

By popular demand, here is a starter pack of all quantum PhD students on BlueSky that we could find. go.bsky.app/AUTn1di

Now that the #quantum community is getting back together, I wanted to share here our last project 📃 This was a very nice theory-experiment collaboration, where we used Quera's Rydberg quantum simulator ⚛️ 💻 to observe string breaking 💥 on a (2+1)D lattice gauge theory! arxiv.org/abs/2410.16558
