Don't be absurd, no they wouldn't. They'd be calling for executions.

but I love scifi generally. I heard that this was kinda common--that people who like scifi hated Looper. But it's apparently a more popular movie among non-sci fi people. So maybe Les Mis is the Looper of musicals b/c it has more mass appeal? And the greatest sci fi movie will still be niche?

B/c I think this is really interesting and would much rather talk about this than work, I think you bring up something interesting. Just because Sondheim may be the greatest musical composer, that doesn't make his work not niche if his field is niche. I'm thinking of the movie Looper. I hated it,

(because I'm not sure if that made sense, I mean I didn't know anything about ST until the Tim Burton movie came out when I was an adult. Growing up, I knew nothing about it but knew a lot about Les Mis)

I think I have an odd history with musicals, so I can't say which is more niche. (Growing up, I had many friends who loved musicals, but I hated them. I'd heard of both of them, but couldn't tell you anything about ST) To me it just shows V is a psychopath that wants to butcher people and eat them.

I still think we're talking past each other. All I'm saying is it should be strong evidence and we should be careful in our language or we risk discrediting the efforts.

You say making assumptions from appearances. That's the part that feels icky to me. Maybe you mean something stronger than just an appearance and something weaker than an assumption. Like when faced with evidence of manipulation, we can suspect it wasn't isolated.

I'm worried we're going to talk past each other, because I'm not sure how much we disagree. I said in my earlier comment that problems should be investigated. But where it gets icky, imo, is when we go from one investigation (in a state Harris won) to we were robbed.

I feel so icky about stuff like this. If there were problems with the election, they should absolutely be investigated. But it's just so close to the big lie that it makes us look like dupes if we believe it. Which was exactly the point of the big lie--to discredit us when they cheat later.

Sorry about that. It's from The Office. Apparently it's a meme or whatever the kids are calling it. www.google.com/amp/s/amp.kn...

Instead of teaching kids about the Boy Who Cried Wolf, we should be telling the story of Cassandra and how no one listened to her even though she had the gift of prophecy.

(I'm laughing because I live in the Nordics and know it's true in my kids' class at least.)

IF YOU ARE PROTESTING, COVER YOURSELF IN THE AMERICAN FLAG. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 optics are everything!! The media and public will have no choice but to see the govt enacting violence against AMERICANS.
Take our flag back from the fascists and flip the script on them!!!

Maybe it's the wrong take away, but that seems to imply it would have been ok to shoot protestors...
