The point many of us made last summer is that frequency matters beyond just capacity. 10-minute headways can mean waiting for the train as much as riding it for multi-stop trips. The commute-centric view of transit is penny wise but pound foolish. www.ctvnews.ca/ottawa/artic...

Love this video showing the O-Train/Kichi Sibi Winter Trail connections, but there are other great O-Train Stations for outdoor winter fun: - Hurdman for the Rideau Winter Trail - Dow's Lake, uOttawa and Rideau for connections to the Rideau Canal. Get out there!

the jane street bus lane project will have an update next month at the TTC board. much of it is going to be watered down to queue jumps and other priority measures because of intense opposition from car drivers (despite transit ridership being higher than car throughtput on jane). not amazing!

Update: Along the same corridor as Rideau Street, the westbound bus lane on Montreal Road in Vanier between St. Laurent Boulevard and Montgomery Street has also had its timespan expanded! Previously 7:00-9:00, now 6:00-9:30.

Vancouver Island Rail never looked like the image in this post, but when I was little I looked like that boy - excited to get on the train with my brother in Victoria to visit my Nanny in Nanaimo - a journey full of wonder and independence. It breaks my heart to see this rail rot due to inaction.

Ottawa just opened TWO light rail lines! I set out to ride them on the first day and far-too-thoroughly review each of the new stations, along with a ton of knowledgeable locals! youtu.be/besAAkM27M4

Enhanced transit priority alert 🚨 The timespan of the peak hour bus lanes on Rideau Street were recently expanded! Previously 2 hours during each peak (7:00-9:00 & 3:30-5:30PM), now 3.5 hours during each peak (6:00-9:30 and 2:30-6:00PM). Great step towards transit reliability and speed!
