This is your regular reminder that executive orders are not royal decrees. Because America has no king.

A federal judge on Thursday temporarily blocked the government from enforcing part of one of President Trump’s executive orders that directs agencies to withhold funds from cities and counties that don’t cooperate with federal immigration enforcement.

👀 Candace Owens: “I never thought I’d see a day where I would be rooting for a university over Trump… but if you think this attack on free speech is gonna stop with college campuses you’re out of your mind. So you better buck up and root for Harvard.”

NEW: Court records show Martin violated a judge’s order, ghostwrote online attacks on a judge and engaged in what experts called professional misconduct. Such a track record might have derailed another lawyer’s career. Not so for this Trump prosecutor.

Hey you fabulous resisters! Our #TeslaTakedowns have CRASHED Tesla stock by 71%. But we have to BREAK that MFer. For those of you with a naughty streak, I've created these notes you can print, cut up, and tuck into windows of parked Teslas you pass. Place it facing into the car!

After meeting with Khalil today, his story reminds us that this betrayal and experience should have never happened. We have a moral obligation to stand with and unequivocally call out the injustices Mahmoud Khalil and too many others are suffering from at the hand of this administration.

Continuing a pattern of stonewalling, the Justice Department has defied a judge’s order to explain what the Trump administration has done, and plans to do, to seek the release of a Maryland man who was wrongfully deported to El Salvador last month, court papers show.

The MacArthur Foundation isn’t complying in advance — it’s resisting in advance. This is the kind of courage and resolve we need to fight MAGA fascism.

The turnout in small towns across the country has been incredible drawing crowds of thousands. We’re already seeing over one million in attendance nationwide, and events are still underway. Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Ohio all had especially surprising showings.

History always has a lesson.

Friendly reminder. In the United States, criminals are entitled to due process. Even if you pay hush money rig an election, steal top secret documents, or incite a mob to overthrow the government; no matter how egregious your crimes, you’re entitled to due process.

"the president defied a Supreme Court ruling to return a man mistakenly sent to a gulag... and spoke of sending Americans to foreign concentration camps. This is the beginning of an American policy of state terror, and it has to be identified as such to be stopped" snyder.substack.com/p/state-terror

American companies that make everything from keychains to mattresses say Chinese manufacturing is superior, and tariffs won’t be enough to shift production to the United States.

We’re winning in Court every day because the Constitution is on the side of Due Process. Of course Thomas and Alito continue to act like mob judges, so keep fighting for the Constitution everyone. www.washingtonpost.com/immigration/...

“Richard Nixon understood that he was doing wrong and therefore hid it,” Larry Summers said. “President Trump is shouting it from the rooftops, seeking to normalize what was previously criminal. That kind of impunity is a much greater threat to democracy.” www.wsj.com/politics/pol...

this is such good news. i think it is also an opportunity for democrats to state forthrightly that when they win power again everyone responsible for this crime will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law and will face the american people to answer for their lawlessness

I will keep beating this drum until the tide turns: Obama's DNC speech got him rock-star attention, but the key reason he became a viable presidential primary candidate was his opposition to the Iraq War back when many elected Dems--especially Hillary Clinton--supported it.

I’m about to board my flight to El Salvador, where I hope to meet with senior government officials to discuss the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia. I also hope to see Kilmar and check on his condition — and remind him that we won’t stop fighting until he’s home.

😮 HIDING ICE FLIGHTS: ICE charter flights by GlobalX have been removed from many flight trackers, and given the call sign TYSON --previously associated w/ Secret Service and a B52 bomber squadron. Tracked by tail number, here is TYSON41 which departed Texas en route to a destination South America:

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.

Let’s be clear. When the President defies the Supreme Court, it is the role of Congress to remove him from office. Full stop.

NOW: Normally a US president might consider this an act of war - refusing to return a wrongly imprisoned man. But since Trump sent him … it’s just another case of Trump insanity and authoritarianism. www.usatoday.com/story/news/p...

Trump to Bukele: "Home-growns are next. The home-growns. You gotta build about five more places. It's not big enough."

The Trump administration knows that bringing Abrego Garcia back to U.S. soil—and then arguing he should again be removed to El Salvador—is a case they might lose.

So basically, only Christians people will be allowed to work for the government? If you have a Bible thumping co-worker shoving Republican Jesus down your throat everyday, and tell them to back off, you’re fired? MAGA Christians will weaponize this on their LGBTQ co-workers and whoever they hate…

An autistic, nonverbal teenage boy who was shot repeatedly by Idaho police from the other side of a chain link fence while he was holding a knife died Saturday after being removed from life support, his family said.

The Trump people claim to be fighting antisemitism, and the media often accept that framing. I believe, on the contrary, that these actions are antisemitic in intention and in execution. I explain in a short video: snyder.substack.com/p/fomenting-...
