Particularly in the example of EVs, you had conservative and pro-business interests actually try to frame it as some line in solidarity with the working classes, like "people shouldn't have this mandated expense", fully ignorant of the irony of why most people can't afford it.

Status quo preservation is the primary political goals of both belligerents in the two party system and the interests that fund them. That goes for basically any liberal democracy too (UK, Australia, EU)

Depends on your interpretation of "anti-American".. Trump is the most unashamed and unfiltered example of an American I can think of, though I read a lot of anti-imperialist material so maybe I'm negatively biased in that regard.

Unfortunately it would just be another thing that most politicians get drilled for. Would end up being the same meaningless answers that nobody believes in a similar vain to "do you think we should end homelessness" and "should a country interfere in foreign elections"
