Pro-fossil-fuel messaging is basically like
"but don't you LOVE going to the laundromat? having your own washer/dryer at home is overrated" and yet people eat it up.

Renewables have their strong sides and also weaknesses. Pretending it's all "big oil" is just as stupid as hating them on principle.
i now blame people.
its humanity.
theres something wrong with us.
why do we scam and fall for scams.
our brains arent okay.
There's a weird toxic masculinity aspect of it too, like solar panels revoke your Man Card.
Defined in the Urban Dictionary:"woke" means to be aware of & attentive to social issues, particularly racism & social injustice. It can also mean to be aware of what's happening in the community.
It's not an insult but the highest compliment. Wear it proudly.

They definitely don't want to give up that power.
Just because it's cheap doesn't mean it's good for the planet.
But more importantly, EV batteries (like batteries in general) have terrible recycling rates, and are incredibly toxic to recycle.
Until it's cheaper to recycle a battery than it is to simply toss it, we have an environmental problem.
These days hardly anything is open overnight, the time when my disabled ass is often awake and wanting to get things done.
In some countries it's below the cost of fossil fuels (already artificially cheapened w subsidies)
Inflating elec demand by a huge amount creates a new market, and pushes the prices back up. Oh no! We still have to use oil!
Chatted with them for a bit, turns out they don’t have an electric car but like to use the laundromat once a month because it can do all of their couch covers in one go.

Sorry, having a John Stewart moment.
If you share a bed with someone I'd really recommend trying it.
(Also I see you haven't recovered from Twitter yet - we don't have to be like that here! It's okay! <3)
I won’t even start on level of imbecility needed to not realise you can, as they’re clearly separate beds, wash them at different times.
I think you might have gotten wooshed by the joke that Derrick was making. He was doing a parody of people who claim they couldn't possibly use an EV because of "but sometimes", something Technology Connections has mentioned several times as being silly. Their complaints ~always have easy fixes!
