I'm not anti-CBT. I've had a really positive experience, delivered by a highly trained therapist, and a really negative one, delivered / supervised by less trained people. I wonder which version most people will get under Jeremy's plans. 4/4

whilst seeming not to entirely believe the huge increase in incidence of the same conditions since Covid WHICH WASN'T EXACTLY A TIME FULL OF SOCIAL CONTACT (for very good reasons). And the prescription, as always, is CBT. 3/4

parity of esteem between mental and physical health, but then to *only* focus on cutting benefits to those with mental ill-health, is quite something. He then talks up the health benefits of social contact (only through the workplace, natch) for those with anxiety & depression, 2/4

I have to say that an official saying it right out - inferior people will just have to accept “a period of correction” - is some of the most British state saying the quiet part out loud stuff we have seen.

Let us also remember the time the head of CCX complained about "passengers" in churches.

The egg fried rice sounds lovely! I'd never heard of honey berries and had to look them up. We had matar paneer which included some mangetout from the garden, but Mr Asda supplied the majority of them.

Yes! I often think they sound like a lost line from the firemen's rollcall in Trumpton.

I always think he sounds a little bit like Kermit (which is a terrible insult to a really good frog).

Yes, we encountered one on our way round, which sounded good from what I heard. We didn't do a tour (partly as my friend uses a wheelchair and not all parts are accessible) and you can get by without - there's a useful map.

Morning prayer (with baptism! Yay!) this morning, then off to London to meet a friend and potter round Highgate cemetery - which is wonderful and I really wish I'd known about it earlier.

Every time I see the ad I think "But what did he have for dinner?"

Oh no snark taken! Tbh I hadn't even thought about a potential link with, or accreditation by, the university. I saw it and remembered what I'd heard about the CREC & NSA.

Is there? That's fascinating, thank you. I shall look into it.

I would see it as an attempt at expanding their brand & (malign) influence.

Quite. I don't know Oxford university at all either, but I'd be extremely surprised if this course was in any way validatable by them. The New St Andrews crew seem obsessed with the style* of traditional British universities, which is why they've settled in Oxford. *For want of a better word.

....I don't know Oxford at all, but I don't imagine there are loads of empty buildings lying around for the taking.
