People losing their jobs is always very bad and never a subject for humour, but *c'mon lads* "division" was RIGHT THERE. www.churchtimes.co.uk/articles/202...

I don't get why people say "ooh, *you're* easily pleased" with such derision. Being easily pleased is brilliant. Something pleasing always just round the corner. Something I quite like is on the telly? Incredible stuff. Chippy for tea? I may as well have bought a chalet in heaven.

This is a thing of beauty.

Significant danger of me not being late for church this morning, and I'm not sure who I am any more.

Amused by the ad in the Church Times with the tagline "Open Doors, Open Spaces, Open Minds" for the parish of Draughton.

This has been a quietly simmering right-wing panic for a few years now, the alleged "epidemic" of children cutting off their parents. There's no evidence for this phenomenon whatsoever, much less the bizarre "SJW therapy-speak" explanation they always reach for.

CoE people take note.

I am shattered.

Do. Not. Disturb. The. Mysterious. Ancient. Rune-inscribed. Skull-adorned. Ring. Found. In. The. Idyllic. Countryside. Seriously, there's a whole book about this. And movies. Long ones!

Haven't managed to get a photo yet, but roadside poppy season is definitely upon us! My favourite!

Having pottered in the garden* for a bit, I am now listening to Cornershop and tidying up the last of the chocolate spread**. *I know newborn baby's head is officially The Best Smell, but new tomato plants deserve an honourable mention. **From the jar, with a teaspoon.

Where the hell is my 'runner's high'? open.substack.com/pu... I've been running multiple times a week for well over a year now, and this supposed 'runner's high' is nowhere to be seen/experienced. What gives? Latest post explains more, along with some impassioned ranting. #Running #Exercise

Crack squirrels! #Rev (again).

Ah this made me giggle so very much. (There was a bit of a phase some years ago where JP was popular in some Christian circles, even the more supposedly progressive ones. I hope that's over).

First teeny tiny garden raspberries. Quite literally #TinyJoys

Thinkinge of askinge Chat GPT a questioun about your plannes? Trye a tarot deck. Cheaper, bettir for the environment, bettir resultes.

Today's GALLIVANTING featured a trip to Highgate cemetery, which is one of the more beautiful places I've visited recently. Said hello to Karl Marx, I believe it's the rules.

A good round up of the "Great British Strike" today. In my town, this featured shouting, stop the boats placards, a bit of verbal abuse and trying to sing Land of Hope and Glory but not knowing the words.

The argument “young white men turn to hate because they don’t get enough empathy for the barriers they face” needs to square itself with the reality that men and women of color — and many white women — faced generations of barriers without turning to hatred in the same numbers. 1/

1000th Metrodle today, which has made me happy.

1. And today from the outposts of Christian weirdness, I read that there's a "new and unique" Christian college opening in Oxford. It's "in response to the increasingly prevalent liberal and progressive ideologies in universities".

My beloved Supergrass at Camden Roundhouse. 30 years and a couple of miles from where I first saw them.

Lovely mangetout flowers. #TinyJoys
