I continue to maintain my position that people who weaponize blocklists for their personal grudges are a danger to our community and shouldn't be in charge of anything. Crying wolf is an abuse of our community's trust and makes it more difficult to deal with people who are actually problematic.

So. It has officially happened. I have been officially let go from my position at CDC. I wasn’t a probationary employee. I had stellar performance reviews every year. I’ll be ok. But please understand that many worked HARD to get into these positions and were doing great public health work.

I'm going to be a bitch about this for once: I wear a mask every time I'm on a plane, at the airport, on trains, the subway, the bus, in stores, at conventions. It really isn't difficult. You can't pretend COVID away. And you won't be able to pretend bird flu away either, which is much more lethal
