i unfortunately have whatever gene that allows me to know exact dates and times for turning point moments lmfao 😮‍💨 everyone is different in how they choose to acknowledge these things though. grief is not always linear and neither is healing.

so sorry you have these anniversaries to begin with. i have one for each parent and as time goes on, i begin to feel the same as you i think.

bg3 was such a good example of finesse even though it obviously used things that make it a triple A title. we need more of this effort. i am also biased but escapism is another thing that gets lost in titles sometimes where art direction and stylization can help with this tremendously.

i don't expand my realm of gaming often enough but titles like stardew valley and unpacking give me hope that the community will continue to stay in line with the basics of good gaming - it's gameplay and art direction. it's not mo cap and strictly realism. you have to finesse it if so. see: bg3.

honestly dude take me back to the aughts where you could pick up a ps2 or GameCube title and could at least halfway guarantee that it was mildly interesting and enjoyable because the emphasis on art direction was at an all time high in that age

i am concerned for spaces at large because of this mentality - if you applied how this played out to any other product or service, i feel like people would get it. i don't know what the disconnect is for some people. nice is not equal to professional.

the layers of bullshit are truly astounding every time i think about it. there are absolutely no winners here and it was such a massive bullet dodged.

just came here to say that i am glad you said something because it desperately needed to be said. it's disappointing seeing people lay blame to those who spoke up but this was such a massive deal as it pertains to fan spaces. so yeah, thanks for being a voice to an unruly and dangerous precedent.

i hope other people stay wary because these mods do not need to be fronting anything else

i snooped a little and got nausea, i have no idea how people cannot... see how dangerous of a precedent this was setting for fan spaces
