Its a heat shield. It's supposed to cover the catalytic converter, which gets super hot. I wouldn't trust duct tape or plastic zip ties on it any longer than it takes to drive straight to a shop for a proper fix.

How about flashing strobe lights and loud bangs? I almost had to walk out of the Beetlejuice broadway show it was so hard to take. Sat through much of it with my hand over my eyes.

We tend to be all in on coupons, discounts, BOGO's, 3 for 2's, cash reward credit cards. Whether it's cans of soup or nights at a resort. We can afford to not sweat it, but it's just who we are. We also save and reuse perfectly good plastic bags or pieces of foil. Our kids just shake their heads.
