One spot left for this group starting Monday!

i’m just so blown away by what LA can do

extremely highly recommend joining if you are in CA and at all interested!!

New group alert! If you’re in CA, identify as neurodivergent and are looking for a space to process the ongoing pandemic, @eriin.bsky.social and I will be running this group starting Feburary 10th! Tinyurl.com/NDpandemicgroup

Study: “The COVID-19 group had a significantly higher rates of bacterial infections, influenza virus infections, and mycoplasma infections” Just like Spanish Flu, Covid is increasing the risk of bacterial infections. #MycoplasmaPneumonia #Pneumonia #LongCovid www.thelancet.com/journals/lan...

My clients: ugh Me: Is it Seasonal depression And/Or Election results stress And/Or Maintaining health during a pandemic w/another one likely starting any second And/Or Fear about your future/life & safety And/Or Holiday stress And/Or Existing in a capitalist dystopia And/Or…

THREAD: we urgently need to talk about babies & Covid - AGAIN. A new paper has dropped looking at acute Covid-19 outcomes from Sep 2023-Apr 2024 by age for all England. Except for deaths, babies under 6 mths old have HIGHEST risk of A&E, admission & SEVERE hospital admission across ALL ages 1/10

I’ve been using StoryGraph for 2ish years. It’s excellent, highly recommend.

two recent reads that are very appropriate for this moment (this may or may not be why i gave them both 5 stars but they both made me Feel things and also stare at the wall for a while so what can i do)

Some of you may know me from Twitter, IRL, or from editing this paper. Hi! ::waves:: I will be transitioning away from Twitter and am excited that this platform exists. Grateful that BlueSky is an option for us all. www.frontiersin.org/journals/reh...

A thread of a collection of therapist directories that have niches & specialties as alternatives to the larger, problematic ones (In no particular order-feel free to add to this if you know of one I've missed!) 🧵 #TherapistSky #MentalHealth

i love collecting library cards on libby (many libraries allow non-locals to sign up) including @queerliblib.bsky.social

therapists going to therapy this week has felt like that meme about venmoing the same $20 back and forth amongst your friends into eternity.... like, you're having the exact same bad time i'm having, but it's my turn to have a worse time so i can be ready to help other people through theirs tomorrow

The flawed and outdated Cochrane review on exercise in ME/CFS still hasn't been withdrawn, and continues to harm patients.

therapy degree programs should be the most on top of this, but alas

Reminder: Masks protect against all types of airborne viruses. If another pandemic starts, masks will be a key first line of defense, especially as we won't have a vaccine right away.

Folks are shocked at the increase in racist, misogynist, ableist beliefs. Especially where “your body my choice” is concerned. You know who’s not shocked? Disabled people. Those who’ve been fighting for Covid mitigations. The masks came off years ago - Tuesday’s election just made it louder:

one of the reasons bluesky works differently is because early users waged a successful fight to get the devs to prioritize safety features to protect communities at risk as a result bluesky now has a suite of controls that i think are unmatched on social media here’s the list, lmk what i’ve missed

I hear a lot of “we survived the first term and we will survive another” Many people didn’t survive. They’re just no longer here to tell their stories. We must tell them on their behalf and make sure people understand what’s at risk.

about me for now - i’m a neurodivergent-affirming, disability justice-oriented, relational therapist. covid-consciousness informs my work, along with other tangential experiences/interests/parts of me - entertainment industry, music, fandom/gaming culture, queer theory, birding, reading, etc etc

I'm not asking healthcare professionals to watch TV or keep up with the news. I'm asking them to read the most influential medical periodical in the world? Don't psychologise #LongCovid patients. #NeuroCovid www.nejm.org/doi/full/10....

Reasons to wear an n95: 1) COVID never ended 2) Unmitigated pandemics are a tool used to harm marginalized people & you won’t participate 3) CDC is tweeting about avian flu symptoms to watch for 4) It’s a real bad time to risk illness & disability 5) It offends MAGA Get/give mask mutual aid:

Haymarket has TEN ebooks on the work of liberation that are free for download for the next week. Ten. They include LET THIS RADICALIZE YOU, HOPE IN THE DARK, HOW WE GET FREE on the work and lessons of the Combahee River Collective, and more:
