regularly scheduled reminder that gen ai shit can fuck off there is no moral use case & seeing it creep up in every possible avenue of tech is the worst kind of plague on trying to be any form of creative worker in the world don't be complicit in mass theft & don't come at me with edge cases

Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma looks so ugly... RF5 wasn't exactly a looker, either. Almost felt tempted to say the series hasn't handled its transition to full 3D gracefully, but then I remembered Frontier and Tides of Destiny exist and look MUCH better than this.

this is something I've tried to articulate in the past, but couldn't quite find the words. It's why I would describe shows like Girl's Last Tour or games like Coquette Dragoon as "cozy", in spite (or actually because?) of their grim and hopeless settings.

The thing I hate about the "AI is democratizing art" argument is that art has always been democratized. That's what ""bad"" art is. You think I would *choose* to draw like this? No, my body cannot extend all the way to grasp the divine. And so we get to see the roadmaps we take that get us elsewhere

I started playing Heaven Burns Red and was wondering how they would try to reconcile the gacha mechanics with the Key-flavored tragic story they are clearly aiming for, but pretty early on they introduce a mechanic for telling you your current party is not canon-compliant.

currently struggling with how to write TINMFF's ending. I feel like maybe a game that is very explicitly a power fantasy is not the best place to shoehorn a "did you know power fantasies are kinda silly and boring" message. Doesn't stop it from being true.
