To bring a smile to your face this Monday morning, here’s an ancient Egyptian sketch of a cat serving a mouse! 😄 The artist used a flake of limestone as a sketchpad for this fun scene. 📷 Brooklyn Museum www.brooklynmuseum.org/opencollecti... #Archaeology #Art

Archaeologists discover first pharaoh’s tomb in Egypt in more than a century

I’m super excited to be part of this amazing team (even if my Palaeolithic rocks are very peripheral to the New Kingdom tomb - although there were some Nubian cores eroded from the top of the cliff in the fill burying C4)

www.un.org/en/observanc... I’m proud (but often frustrated or depressed) to be a woman in science! Let’s all do what we can to make things better - or at least keep doing good science

Something special for the lithophiles for #FlintFriday and #FieldFriday - two ends of the Levallois spectrum from my survey yesterday in Luxor. I’ve never seen anything quite like either of them 🤩

Yup

Great work from @icarehb.bsky.social’s outreach team yesterday sharing archaeology activities with 150 visitors at the Centro Ciência Viva in Faro 🪨🔬🪼 Also it turns out that my Portuguese skills are better suited to explaining stone tools and 3D printing than smalltalk with my neighbours 🇵🇹

✨Yesterday was a fantastic afternoon at Centro Ciência Viva do Algarve! We had a great time connecting with visitors during Science & Tech Week, exploring archaeology. Thanks to everyone who joined us! #ScienceAndTechnologyWeek #Archaeology #DiscoverScience #ExploreThePast

Looks like I joined Bluesky just in time to remind you all to join me and three expert speakers tomorrow at 16:00PT for the next #ICArEHBDialogues event! We’ll be taking a deep dive into the world of #Community&SocialEngagement and answering all your questions on academic outreach. Don’t miss it!

Great to see this pop up as we’re working on another paper on this site at the moment 🪨😊
