Any non text content gets linked to via markdown and stored in attachments subfolders. It's a pretty good export. Occasionally some notes will "fail" to export but they get saved as html files in that case.

Yeah I like JMAP as well. I'd love to see it be adopted but I also am not holding out hope (gmail has really squashed email and protocol development in the worst way)

Originally I switched to @fastmail.com but for a family of four, three of whom are not nearly as email-nerdy as I am, the pricing didn't make a lot of sense. I ended up switching to custom domains on iCloud since we already sub Apple One. Not as featureful as Fastmail but a good fit for the fam.

In this case I was going from a temp screw terminal jack to a "permanent" install on a critical piece of networking gear so I cut it off and resoldered a new jack on it. Didn't want to risk a future short.
