To be honest I don’t think it should be a chess clock. I think it should be a decision timer ie take an action within 60 seconds of having priority.

I play C but among my local playgroup of nonCs, the general reasoning is the perception that all cEDH decks are the same and there is little room for creativity or expression. Second to that is budget.

Pretty sure this point is brought up at least once a quarter.

Two opinions- 1) Proxies fundamentally hurt the game past a certain point of ubiquity. Whether cEDH meaningfully brings use to or above that point, I don’t know. 2) I disagree with pro-proxy moral high ground arguments. I avoid socially engaging with those who hold them.

Great example of why I personally dislike the cEDH community. Guess that hasn’t changed in 2025 yet either. Ha.

I’m in my late thirties. I’ve dealt with this situation you have expressed in my career in a larger scope - and I’ve seen team and functions with more money than all of cEDH combined still waffle on action. It’s a people question. Pragmatically if people aren’t there, they aren’t there.

Of course. But it’s not my choice on what other people decide - particularly those with resources, whether that’s dollars, clout, etc. Speaking for myself - this ‘lack of action and accountability’ (though not my choice of words) in others is why I choose to do nothing. Not worth the effort.

People - and communities - won’t change until they are ready. Sure, they will stay in limbo or talk about hypotheticals but that’s about it. It is what it is.

Let them compete with each other until someone wins. I understand it can be frustrating. My view is that the people behind these initiatives are just not ready. Until then, they won’t be receptive to this message. Sony won’t acknowledge Nintendo until they’re ready type of deal.

Like what specific things and what specific people.

Also Genesis Chamber.

Lark combo. Start with that. Will reset your Kambal. Also probably play Marching Duodrone. Seems good.

Great recap and lessons learned. We shall be watching with great interest.

Thanks for replying. Think you can consider intuition if running with Chalice / EE as a meta call. Can also search Saga. Doomsday synergizes with lantern well since you can break the pile easily. May also want to think about emergence zone / flash enablers etc. Thanks again.

1) Do you really need Naus? 2) Have you considered Doomsday + 4MV Jace? 3) No Artificer’s Intuition, Whir of Invention, or Urza’s Saga? 4) Why Sphere of Resistance?

Thanks for sending. Mind if I ask you a few questions?

List?

You’ll find your groove. The way I did was being unapologetically myself. I will try to outplay you no matter the deck I’m running. If you’re ok with that at your table, great. If not, great. Pretty upfront about it. I think that certainty puts others at ease. They know what they’re getting.

Good luck.

Play in a core with Basalt Rings. There’s something here with Emry + 0-cost artifact but I’m too lazy to figure it out. It’s 4+ but many of the pieces like Ironworks support other unbounded mana lines that synergize with Drownyard Temple anyway. Don’t forget to run Tolaria West.

Try Drownyard Temple.
