One of the great joys of bsky is finding out a horrible person has joined, going to block them, and discovering they’re already blocked by a labeler I use.

“Sometimes the witch will just pick you up and hold you, and you'll calm her down” Goddamn it how does this silly quiz manage to be so accurate, because I am absolutely the stress ball of humans.

There are no distractions. It's all bad. Systematically stripping trans people of their rights, guys in balaclavas shoving any brown person with a tattoo into a ummarked vans, ending healthcare for millions. It's all in service of fascism and technofeudalism. It's all one thing. That's the point.

Sometimes you’re at the hardware store and discover a demo model of a $2,250 Weber grill on sale for $350, at which point the only question becomes whether @jake.sooscreek.productions has room for it in their back yard (they said yes, they absolutely do).

Usher nodded at me while I was waiting for a Lyft near the valet stand at The Grove.

Just found out that @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social used to make the most wholesome raps about spices, bread and his grandma, and I genuinely don’t know what to do with all this earnest happiness I’ve got after watching these videos.

Jake makes a damn good milkshake too, in case there was any doubt. (There should not have been any doubt)

Remember if you’re at the “big insurrection” in LA to support small businesses.

I used to live on this block, and while living there taught me that I don’t do well with city noise, things like this make me miss the area. The people really are incredible.

Having one of those days where I wrestle with my complicated relationship to The Protestant Work Ethic.

One thing @iwriteok.bsky.social talks about in the first season of It Could Happen Here is how gangs would likely join in if the military started moving against their neighborhoods and cities. Gangs are already organized into a hierarchy and willing to do violence.

The spin has already started as if our entire city is in chaos. I went from Burbank all the way over to Koreatown on surface streets tonight and jackshit was happening. The CNN coverage makes it look like world war 3 and that’s what Trump wants so he and his fucking goons can come shoot Angelenos.

God fucking dammit. Watching the city I called home for a decade be the target of fascists who want an excuse to escalate violence… physically hurts. LA, take care of each other, tonight, and always.

Being involved with a community is good, but that shouldn’t have any relevance to the fact that bi women dating men are still queer. Being told ‘hey maybe you won’t feel so bad about the community having bias against you if you join the community that’s biased against you’… sucks a bit.
