That's what I'm wondering. There are people in place who can stop this, but won't. So crazy

Place in politics? C'mon, both sane political republicans and democrats: why are you letting this happen? Are you out of your flippin' minds??

So happy to see you here. Your quiet but alerting voice and show calms me even in the face of terrible circumstances. I trust what you have to say.

Again, I'd like to know about accountability. WE the people have accountability in everything: jobs, relationships, laws, etc.
In education, if we have one little blot of indescretion, we are thrown out of our careers.
Why are we not expecting the same from our government?

I agree, but there has to be somebody to hold them accountable, if not at least the people.

I don't know what happened to dissuade people from reading in the interim, but I am glad for whatever reading fairy is out there sprinkling reading dust on them again.

I was encouraged by many small events I witnessed, but in particular the other day, while I was at the bookstore, I overheard a teen mention to her friend that she was looking forward to reading books again.

I am so glad people are interested in really reading again, not just texts or the newspaper or online anything. I am still teaching literature and story after 28 years, and I have watched students go in waves from loving reading to hating reading, now reading because they want to again.
