There are corrupt politicians and power grabbers who don't care who is harmed, and there are innocent civilians who just want to be safe and free, whatever that might look like. That's what we have here.

Look I know you have a lot on your plate right now and it’s stressing you out but I’m gonna need you to abandon it all to lie still and become unconscious for about eight hours and if you can’t relax enough to do that your brain will destroy itself and everything will be so much worse. Sweet dreams!

The Biden people have absolutely no idea how pissed off young people are. Like literally no idea.

i was nervous to publish this for so many reasons, but i did it anyway. as i write, it’s time to be brave. i hope you’ll read it. www.thehandbasket.co/p/we-can-cho...

Hamas is willing to release all civilian hostages if Israel stops airstrikes - MSNBC www.msnbc.com/chris-jansin...

MSNBC reporting that Hamas has offered to release foreign hostages with no preconditions. 4:53pm

The war has nothing to do with the hostages. It is an overt abandonment of every single one of them. inews.co.uk/news/world/b...

Something people need to understand about the American response to the war in Israel: Jews AND Muslims are going to be increasingly targeted for hate speech and hate crimes. This will come mostly from extremist white Christians. This is exactly why solidarity matters right now.

@AmiDar on Twitter Some people have asked, "What would you do if you were in Netanyahu's place?" After thinking about this, here's what I would have done last week: Nothing. Nothing at all. Not one bullet—at least not for a while. I would have said, ...

Thomas Friedman comes out against a Gaza invasion. If Friedman is against it, you better believe Jews in America are not united on this topic. Jewish institutions and mainstream media need to stop making it seem like Jews are a monolithic group on this.

The origin of so many dark moments in human history is the belief that, “If only this group didn’t exist, all our problems would be solved.”

There is so much to grieve right now.

"The defense of innocent civilians on all sides is not an obstructive legal doctrine or battlefield annoyance but the entire purpose of a just war against an enemy that set itself against humanity. Contempt for civilian life is the hallmark of terrorist regimes and actors, not liberal democracies."

I wrote this last week, but it honestly feels even more relevant now. People are acting like war has to happen, as if it’s just a natural reaction to the horror we witnessed. Not only that, like the war has to happen *this way*. Neither is true. Read: eladnehorai.substack.com/p/this-war-i...

The biggest lie being spread about the war is that it has anything to do with saving the hostages. The Israeli government is sacrificing the safety of the hostages specifically in order to wage the war. Any other framing is a dishonest or ignorant way of justifying the war.

Palestinians living in Gaza are running out of clean water and will die from severe dehydration soon. - Gazans are barely urinating due to a lack of hydration. - Gazans are drinking water that is mixed with untreated wastewater and seawater. Read More:

I’ll say it again. If you’re an Israeli convinced by the need to respond to Hamas, please think about the 1982 Israeli invasion of Lebanon and ask whether it served Israel’s interests or led to moral and strategic catastrophe. www.foreignaffairs.com/middle-east/...

the only people winning this war are the evangelical christofascists eating popcorn and cheering on the coming apocalypse

According to the rumor, the Rebbe of Klausenburg , who lost 11 of his children in the Holocaust, once remarked in a conversation that it could have been worse. What could have been worse than the horrors of that dark period? “It would be worse if we were the murderers,” he said -Oren Kolodny on FB

It is simply not possible to evacuate over one million people in 24 hours from the zone of attack in Gaza. The answer to horrific atrocities by Hamas cannot be collective punishment upon an entire population, 50 percent of which are children.
