Actually if it's exclusively Game Maker games then they probably won't play Six Seats Left since it's a PICO-8 game😅

Oh yeah, I signed up and then forgot about this, oops

I got one too and it was a good thing I'd already gotten the "whoops, my bad" email by the time I checked my inbox otherwise I would have been concerned

Can you provide examples of people saying these things? My first instinct when I see people complaining about shitty takes I've never heard before is that they're blowing it out of proportion for the sake of ragebait and it's actually just one guy

Is this an actual thing that people are saying?

Kodaka's response is pretty similar. It's really cool seeing devs prop one another up like this, they recognize the ecosystem they're in where they're in some ways competing with one another for attention, but they're also choosing to congratulate and celebrate each other.

I mean, it's a kangaroo court and obviously not meant to be fair to the player but STILL Games punishing you for not doing something they didn't tell you how to do in the first place is not good game design

It varies. Rare stickers are basically the same as regular ones but come with one or more bonus attributes, with rarer stickers having more and/or stronger bonuses. Whether they're sidegrades or upgrades depends on the exact bonuses they have and how well they synergize.

Cassette Beasts has something like this, you determine each monster's moveset by applying stickers, and some rare stickers grant extra damage or XP for each empty slot the monster has

She's 90 and blind to the point she can't act anymore, I wouldn't be surprised if she signed the deal just to have more money to leave her loved ones, as morbid as that may sound

I've been trying to write another post here that summarizes my messy feelings on all this but I think it's best to sum it up as: people at large treating photorealism as the end goal of all aesthetics is really depressing to me as a game artist

I'm guessing this is more about the sequels, where Rambo is famously a lot more trigger-happy than he was in the original

I wonder how much of it is scalpers, I've already seen people complaining to that effect

It looks like a games console but I can't quite tell which

Turns out I was right not to believe it, because they didn't

I'll need to add a few music tracks and block off any content that I don't want to be accessible, but there's no reason I can't throw together a demo in the six weeks before Next Fest kicks off. Watch this space!

The fun part is that neither the face scanner nor the ID scanner actually work (at least they didn't when I tried them), so you can't even if you wanted to

Obligatory XKCD of the other side of it

Man, 21yo me was really optimistic about this game... needless to say, that paid Steam release won't be happening any time soon 🤣 Again, though, this is pretty similar to what I actually ended up doing with Prism Indigo and Prism Warriors

This has the same energy as "An A-press is an A-press, you can't say it's only a half"
