FYI, here’s another good moderation list that I also subscribe to. Somewhere I saw an automated list that blocks anyone with certain “MAGA/coded” words in their bios, but I lost the link… bsky.app/profile/did:...

Turns out, people get pretty angry when the services they depend on get shut down…

credible subject matter experts and a stupid political argument thrown up as a weak attempt at balance from a nincompoop, then *you* are the problem. Media consumers are also lazy and need to stop blaming media for their laziness.

Obviously one must be careful in picking their sources. If all you do is watch Fox News, that’s bad. You also have to practice critical thinking. There’s a propensity for people to blame trad media “both sides-ing” issues, but if you can’t tell the difference between a legit argument backed by …

And on social media, every idiot with thumbs gets equal airtime and thinks their opinion is equally valid. It isn’t. Credibility, competence, and expertise matter. The trad media filter is good, actually.

2) Trump actually got cheered, but someone on social media replaced the audio with fake boos, posted it to social media, and it got reposted because people *WANT* to believe that Trump got booed? If you think 1) is more likely, you really need to spend less time online.

Ask yourself, honestly, which is more likely: 1) That all traditional media (print, digital, radio, TV) unanimously agreed (with NO LEAKS) to cover for Trump by overlaying cheering when the Trump made an appearance but someone on social media scooped this story with the “real” soundtrack, or…

Occam’s Razor - this didn’t happen, and it’s just social media being social media: completely untrustworthy. Wish it did, though.

There are lots of things to be upset about, but I don’t think this is one of them. I doubt very much that prices will change. And besides, sales (even retail) are almost entirely electronic now. This *might* harm the unbanked, but it’s not like there’s a lack of pennies in circulation.

Literally nothing of value. Purely troll rage bait.

Did you, though? Because that article you linked clearly and repeatedly says that the deal is between *T-mobile and SpaceX*, not Verizon, and not Apple.

Indeed. Also happening on Android. www.androidauthority.com/android-15-s...

Peace. Also check your Android. Or better yet, complain to T-Mobile who are the offenders here, not Apple. www.androidauthority.com/android-15-s...

All iPhones from 14 onward include satellite connectivity. 18.3 does not “install starlink”, it contains updated carrier settings for T-Mobile’s network operating at the standard cell frequency of 1900MHz. T-Mobile includes Starlink. Get upset at T-Mobile and switch carriers or turn off satellite.
comment in response to post
You said to prevent or delay updating to 18.3. My point was that you should update immediately because turning off satellite is trivial.

Apple isn’t forcing anything on users. It’s a “convenience” or “perk” offered by T-Mobile that you can turn off. Don’t get upset at Apple. 9to5mac.com/2025/02/05/a...

It’s t-mobile, not Apple. And it likely won’t connect via satellite unless terrestrial cells are inaccessible. And even then, you can turn that off. 9to5mac.com/2025/02/05/a...

Good luck with that. Satellite is the industry trend on high-end phones. It’s inevitable. But you can chose which carrier you use, and some carriers use other satellite services. Apples own service uses GlobalStar. 9to5mac.com/2025/02/05/a...
