awesome work! always love to see our indie scene with more articles and reviews, we all know how hard it can be to spread the word

Even if we completely ignore the fact all the nuance of the book is completely lost, with bro being left to a completely superficial understanding of it
These types also conveniantely forget to say how much each of those queries for the agents costs
Paying to read a book, wow!

Ok I'll admit the "reinvented nothing" is probably just me malding but man am I not excited for every game company out there to start charging 80 bucks for their shit game that does indeed reinvent nothing

now the worst thing about it is, as always required by capitalism, having to integrate this evil piece of tech into my day to day job, at least for now while these companies are burning money to keep the "smoke and mirrors" going
it's what pays my bills, and that fucking sucks
i like writing code

my more "hopeful" perspective on this is not that LLMs are incapable of achieving human like levels of code, but that maintaining the infrastructure to host those LLMs is just not financially viable
it really seems like once VC money dries out, no one'll want to pay for the GPUs (or so I hope)

while i still think the "all engineers will be AI in the near future" is nothing but CEO sweet talk to *keep* attracting VC money, ignoring the absurd advancements in LLMs writing code is also kinda silly
we went from llm complete garbage code to competent, mid code, which is MOST human code btw

i would love to see the p2 games with a modern coat of paint. p3 is proof that it can really revitalize it

i'm for sure far from a vibe code expert, but the whole thing is so strange
also giving access to literal terminal commands to a machine feels really wrong (at least it asks for permission to run them but then again, it is itself determining when to ask for it...)
y'all SecOps people are fucked

wanna know as well, although the retroactive terms of use that say they can brick your console if you do shit to your own piece of hardware is also abhorrent
not that i'll be getting it anytime soon anyways, both console and games are stupid expensive

look i wanna play final fantasy tatics on modern hardware, with QoL improvements and voice acting as much as any other boy, gal or gay, but come the fuck on
who looked at this and said: yup, great work y'all!
i'm so fucken tired man. now let's just wait to see the $80 price tag on it too!

I think (if it comes out llms are here to stay), we senior devs are going to have to accept the fact AI is gonna be part of our workflow, want it or not
If llms become financially sustainable as it is, we're going to be expected to push a lot more code that we do now
comment in response to

I see, that is valid too! What I'm afraid about this is we can't compete with the sheer amount of code AI pumps out. And like the article said, for mundane, average stuff, it produces ok code that works, and it's getting better and better at that

I have no idea where the world of software engineering is heading, but my take away is very clear for my future: either learn to use and abuse of llms, or get let behind and jobless

Oh for sure, juniors are fucked, and it's a fucked up and contradictory cycle:
- CompSci is now one of the highest unemployment rates per degree
- Juniors can't find jobs because AI is replacing them
- With no juniors, who's gonna grow to become seniors?
- Without seniors, who improves on AI Tech?

very big disclaimer that this is written from a perspective of inevitability: llms are here now and there's nothing we can do about it. yes they're doing a any % speedrun of destroying the planet, but they're here
if they'r "sustainable" (moni) and here to stay (i hope not), only the future can say

while i'm not a massive doomer or anything, and it's really dumb to not recognize the marvels of deep learning and llms in so many fields, the impact of it on our planet and work life balance is absolutely horrifying

input lag of the stream is noticeable, but very much bearable (i'd say around 75ms, maybe a bit more) -- depends a lot on the bitrate you choose. the higer = the prettiest, but also higher the delay
i had a very nice 1 hour sesh and hitting dodges and parries was alright!
gorgeous game btw
